Hello,

I think that these platforms have a high potential compared to their current market cap. So I would like to understand which project has the best short and long term potential and where are the key differences. My personal cognition is, that GNT is two steps ahead

GNT: Market cap: 612M$ (161M in Nov17) Rank 55
Definitly the bigger fish, seen from the marketcap. But does that mean, it hasnt a better chance to grow as SONM? It has reached the ATH (in $) on the 4'th of January but its far away from the ATH in BTC from the 20'th of June 17.

SONM: Market cap: 139M$ (35M in Nov17) Rank 165
Seems to have the highest hype rate at the moment. Supports additional devices like Android, PlayStation and XBox.
Their RoadMap is for the next 15-18 months instead of 48 like GNT. Is that a sign for a better long term investment from GNT or that SNM Team knows, that they cant look so far in such a fast growing business?

RLC: Market cap: 233M$ (40M$ in Nov17) Rank 119
Partnership with Enigma. A lot of Events announced. Storable in Exodus Wallet whats really popular at the moment.

Are you aware of other platforms? Which is your favorite and why?

I found this "onesided" table in the SONM Whitepaper:

XEL is another one, but imo it's not in same league as the others you mentioned

my pick for supercomputer coin is SONM

Hands down SONM. This coin is going to go super far. Low MCap, lots of room to grow. Soon as this BTC sell wall goes down on Binance, get ready for 30% today.

The table above was copied from SONM website so the comparison is skewed towards SONM, there are other projects like Elastic and Dadi that is entering the space, I think Bluzelle to is doing something similar to this, can say this project will win but by now I expect them to be reaching operation state

Funny to mention Elastic AND Dadi, Elastic is already entered for a while, while DADI came out and tried to claim all sorts of things. I know people always say Elastic is nowhere in the same category as Golem and SONM, and I actually agree, but for me it is a good thing.

Yes, I have to feel this way, because I bought a LOT of XEL more than 6 months ago, and am still suffering for its price, but they are a very different breed, especially when you consider SONM's ICO funds versus XEL's no ICO model.

I am very impressed with RLC Iexec.
So in the long run, I expect RLC to be the best and the most valuable.

My fav is SONM. But mainly because of the team. SONM will have a very bright future, I have no doubt about that.

Golem is also very nice. I recommend doing some research about the differences of Golem and SONM. Although many people think they are huge competitors, the CEO of SONM emphasizes a lot that this is not the case. Sure, they are similar but it's not comparable 1:1.
Imo there's a market for both, SONM and Golem.

To be honest. At the moment I'm not sure about the function of the coin. It is no easy topic like Indahash oder Opus...
That is one Reason why I've started this thread. Perhaps here is someone who can explain it very well with his own words Smiley.

All what I know is for example GNT can be used to pay for the calculating power from other Computers in the chain. But how it exactly work ...I dont know.

But I can imagine, this business model is a good idea and can grow much more in the future.

Nice article, thank you!

At the moment I hold Sonm, GNT, RLC and Sia (until now I didnt saw them in the same corner)
But I want to came from over 70 Alts down to 10-15. So I've to decide which projects I want to support in the long run.

From the feedback in this thread I cant decide it now.

But it seems, that SONM is a safe choise because the community like it much.
RLC is a bit risky but perhaps the best investment.
Golem is the boss in this field and will be attacked from all sides? ^^

Dadi ^^. I dont know where I read it but I'm sure, they've copied their whitepaper. I'm sorry for them but to start with such a move is very unlucky.

SONM has the most thoughtful solution. His development goes full speed and they have something as beta or same. And much more. Written solution for monetization, working cod for 'fog calculation'. I follow the project a bit and I like this despite FUD from ICO

Obviously which ever manage to compete with amazon and other giants will win the race.. The platform must be low cost as compared to other commercial products and should provide quality of service according to some service level agreements.

When these coins first came out nearly everyone I know was hyped about golem. But I always chose som over it. In the end sonm will be winner of this race and it will do something like 20x in a year. My guess.

I only support SONM, it will make the race because they have the best and active team and the marketcap has lower than compared to the other coins.

Golem is also good but I dont like it so much because a lot of people said that there are some strange things going on in the last time.

Its the first time I hear that Golem do some strange things. ^^ But okay the Opinion from all of you is clear. Noone prefers Golem. Iexec is the outsider and "all" eyes are on sonm. I'll put 70% in Sonm and 20% in Iexec and 10% in Sia. Cheesy In the end I just managed to reduce my alts from 4 to 3 in this niche. Perhaps I should take the next niche and came back to this, when I'm smarter.

I held a quite decent bag of SONM but after doing some thorough research and comparisons I sold all and put it on a safe bet for the long run, i.e. iExec / RLC.

My reason?
Decentralized computing / super-computing / grid-computing is a buzzword any of them 3 companies (RLC, GNT, SONM) is using. However this is some heavy shit technology wise and requires a lot of experience. It's not like you can just make an ICO with that theme and expect to have something decently working after a few months. So why iExec / RLC? Because they (their team) has been working on this field for several years now (even several decades). It consists of industry-proven researchers who hold Ph.D.s in this area and contribute to the top-notch research papers in the field. The iExec / RLC platform uses an open-source software the team has been developing on over the last 16 years.. This platform is already being used in industry projects (e.g. Larage Hadron Collider - CERN). They have delivered their V1 on time and are currently working on V2 which is scheduled for coming May. They have in fact been talking with IBM and were invited to the IBM Think Days 19-22 March 2018 where they'll presenet about Cloud Security.

Current Status:
So why is it that iExec / RLC who is obviously miles ahead of GNT and SONM has a lower market cap than those two? Simple. It's marketing. At the moment they do not focus on marketing, however they stated that having outrolled V2 in a few months, they'll focus on tier-one partnerships and marketing which will be a lot easier if you have a solid working version of your product not just hype and a whitepaper. The price of iExec / RLC is far too low at the moment, which IMO is the best time to get in. Note however, that as soon as V2 is online and the marketing machinery starts, this project will take off.
