Try this out. I will send a dollar($1.00) in the mail. plus the stamp.

Sure.

Send me a dollar. Include your bitcoin address on a piece of paper in the envelope (better yet, include a QR Code of your bitcoin address on the piece of paper). I'll use the datestamp of the postmark when I receive the mail.  I'll look up what the 24 hour average MtGox price was on that date, and I'll send you the associated amount of bitcoin.

Send me a PM for my mailing address.

$1 received.  Sending 0.00833333 BTC to the bitcoin address that was received with the $1

(The mail was postmarked August 22 so demonmaestro mailed it on the day he said he would.  It probably arrived yesterday, but I was unable to get to my P.O. Box to check until today.)

Here is your chance to prove that you are honest and trustworthy.  You can build up some serious reputation here and I'll give you a glowing review on your feedback.

I just sent a transaction to you that was supposed to go to someone else.  I accidentally copied the address that I used to send you your 0.08333333 bitcoins earlier today.

I therefore accidentally sent 12.95819609 bitcoins to you instead of the person who was supposed to receive them as seen here:
https://blockchain.info/tx/5f862700d16216444505339d705c3976241805225266790eabe000c354a05c88

If you'll send 12.45819609 BTC back to me (keep 0.5 bitcoin for your time and inconvenience) at the following address:
1FnxEbqufKpHicCuGN68ry8T4eyJ61jdox

Then you'll have a very public record of your trustworthiness and I'll be very grateful.

Yes, very big mistake.

I was being hurried, and I was distracted, and I wasn't paying close enough attention.  I ALWAYS check the address with the receiver before sending (well not always obviously, since the definition of always would include this time), and this time I didn't.  As soon as I sent it, I instantly noticed the mistake, but it was to late.  At first I wasn't sure what address I had actually pasted, and my heart sank.  I had to search the address on the blockchain to see. Then I saw that it was this transaction here, and I got some hope that the OP was serious about wanting to establish some credibility.

Confirmed that I have received the mis-sent bitcoins back.

Thank you very much demonmaestro, you have definitely demonstrated yourself to be honest, honorable, and trustworthy.  I sincerely appreciate your cooperation in the matter.

A note to anyone who comes across this post while checking to see if demonmaestro is trustworthy:

I accidentally sent $1700 worth of bitcoins to demonmaestro by accidentally pasting the wrong address from my clipboard.
I left a message here and sent a PM.
Demonmaestro quickly responded via PM letting me know that as soon as the transaction confirmed he would send the bitcoins back to me, thereby putting my mind at ease, and significantly reducing my stress level while I waited.
He was true to his word, and quickly sent the coins back.
Clearly he has demonstrated that he can be trusted with at least $1700.

DannyHamilton: Thank you so much for giving me an opportunity to prove my self.  Cool

DannyHamilton is already very well trusted, there is no reason why he would need to make a second account well trusted. If he had any intentions of scamming, he could easily do it himself on his own account.

You don't.

You should never accept a single person's report of trustworthiness.  It takes time, with consistent reliable behavior to build up trust. Even then, you should always be careful.

Fast and easy trading with bitwarrior. BTC3.0 at $140.26 per 1BTC was the magic number traded.  Cool
