I stayed awake last night watching the speeches and the finger pointing and I know this hurts people that rely on the government for their services or money, food etc. On a positive side it looks like Bitcoin and alt coins are rallying after the downturn and for that I say, "Thank you" to the idiots that run our country. They should be required to stay shut down until they can create a balanced budget. It that is not possible they need to declare their insolvency and start over with a new American Dollar that is transparent and ran on a blockchain. This would allow for all Americans to see exactly where money is going with regards of how the government wastes our tax dollars.

It would appear that shutting down the federal US government even for a day is beneficial for crypto currency traders and investors. I'm excited to see what several days or a week will do to the price of Bitcoin! Grin

Best wishes to those relying on the Government to save you or help you. Sell some crap get a laptop and make your own way in this world. You could also just hang out at the local library and change your position in life.  There are websites like Steemit and SteemThat that could help you make as much as the meager amount the government is giving you.

The quickest way to solve the budget crisis is to just stop spending money. They could have made sure every American had a great education and computer skills they need instead of funding wars and paying off dictators or giving so much foreign aid. Until every American is prosperous other countries should fend for themselves. If you live in the USA no matter what your skin color is or your heritage you should be able to work and provide for your family. When that isn't the case and people are starving right here at home we are failing as a nation.

The solutions perhaps are up for debate but being honest about our ever growing number of poor in the country will be the beginning to a great future. I'm hopeful that blockchain currencies and technology help revolutionize even non tech peoples lives as more user friendly portals are developed that allow users to earn while they learn or contribute to society.

Gov shutdown? what? Also I wouldn't necessarily put Bitcoins rally and altcoins rally in the category of being caused by this news. Seems like a BTC rally was coming for some time now...

I've only seen this in passing in the news yesterday. I believe the last time I heard this happen was somewhere during Obama's 2nd term. I looked it up and it seems that hospitals and other important stuff are not affected anyway. Though for people it probably looks a bit concerning that stuff like the Smithsonian is closing down.

I'm not exactly sure how this would drive people to crypto's arms since prices can still be volatile but they probably already have an impression that it's difficult to rely on the government since even them (politicians) can't even agree on a budget.
