Hi,

I'm currently running a 6970.  For the last month, I was doing about 385 m/hash at 960mhz clock/1250 mem, avg. 73 degrees C,  fan speed 70%, 1.17V.  I noticed that it would freeze every once in a while, so yesterday I scaled back to 930/1250, 1.106V, fan speed 70%, running at a cool 61 degrees C.   My current m/hash is in the mid 360s.

My questions are...

1.)  Do you consider this a wise decision?  My motivation for scaling back is to protect the longevity of my card.  The drop in m/hash seems negligible.

2.)  When running catalyst control center, how much of a problem is it for a card to be running at 97-98% activity 24/7?    I know these high activity levels are normal when mining, but do activity levels factor into longevity independent of things like temp, voltage, etc.?

3.)  I adjusted the voltage from 1.17 to 1.10 in ASUS smartdoctor.  How does this relate to the power control settings in CCC?  Is it safe to turn the power control settings in CCC up to +20%?  Currently, I have it at +13%.

Thanks in advance to all who reply.

If you do nothing else but adjust the powertune settings in the ATI Control Center to 5%, you will be amazed at the results.

Personally I try and keep my temps below 70*C
