The management of Barcelona break its silent with an official statement and confirmed that it did not get the approval of Antoine Grisman for the transfer to the club in the next summer, or even just enter with him and Atletico Madrid in an official negotiations. As a result, all promoted by the Catalan press and the world press is nothing but newspapers's shame and truthless at least for the time being. A new blow to the newspapers is here, makes their situation worse and will probably contribute to their loss of credibility after long events since last summer. Here below the official statement from FC Barcelona expressing dissatisfaction with what is happening in the media of rumors about communication with Antoine Griezmann :

You wrote his name wrong in the thread. Anyway, the newspaper probably got some leaked info from a source they thought to be reliable and wrote about it to be the first. When you don't spend enough time to confirm the news you usually end up like they did. I've read that he's not going to be transferred. If the club is officially denying it then it just has to be true. I've read that according to rumors they don't have enough money this year to be able to afford him.

This is the problem with some news writers. They always jump with exaggeration before confirming the validity of the news of their informant. The same thing happen to our national television, a news station telling news about some event which eventually proven to be wrong. Aside from that, News at the internet often times used as click bait for a blogers article. Anyway, I wonder what would be the penalty of someone giving wrong news.

In my country there is a new law just implemented last year regarding spreading news without validity or if ever found not legit can file in the court for unlawful use of means of publication and unlwaful utterances. Today even not it newspapers, it was too easy now to spread news through digital media so sometimes we need to do our own research if ever we can and don't get easily trust tje news.

In this case we couldnt tell that the journalist is somehow just overheard something or broadcast it on newspaper on purpose. But whatever happens it is for the accountability and credibility of the journalist. It is just an isolated case though, and newspaper and media should be trusted as always, whether their news is valid or not, the decision is still upto you.

The media these days especially the print media on sports has turned into a marketing gimmick and will do anything to sell you a piece of their paper in order to remain relevant and heard. This often leads them to do such things and tell stories as if they have first hand information but they turn out false.

I dont know if there are countries that do tolerate this thing on where spreading false news isnt a violation because most of the time this kind of thing do really have corresponding consequences specially to the person or groups that do spread false news. Just like on any other field once those things being verified that they are not true and the damage have been done to subject will surely penalize.

The question is in the past what have been the source of the news if not them and they have been reporting the truth. Slack should then be given if they got it wrong at some point but when it becomes repetitive then the issue of trust can set in. Sometimes, even football club are the ones that would leak such news to the press either to test the reaction of their fans to such decision or to pressure the other party to sign for them but eventually if the deal didn't fall through they come with a statement that would not paint them as being rejected for clubs driven by ego.

Whether it's manipulated or wrong research, they information you're spreading should be on point. Even if its an honest mistake, i think there are editors as well checking these articles so its unacceptable to broadcast wrong info

It's well known that the media is trying to create some panic from nothing, they make money from views, and you won't view/click on the article if you read a boring subject on the main newspaper. Personally,I will keep using newspaper but I will make sure that I understand that most of the times they make FUD and problems from nothing.

Is this topic should be in this gambling discussion board? I have no ideas why it should be here because I do not find anything related to gambling here. You are talking about sports news which is not related to gambling activity. I think it should be on off topic board, or maybe all sports lovers should ask theymos to create new sub-boards about sports in general lol.

His name is spelled "Griezmann" and if a media outlet let alone a legal document like a subopena from a lawyer's office can not produce his name properly then I would say it is not legally binding thus is fake. But look, Griezmann is looking for a house on the move that was finalized already so it must be true! https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/914565/Barcelona-transfer-news-Antoine-Griezmann-latest

This is how media works to tell story to favor them, either good or bad publicity, the important thing for them is to gather people that will buy their stories, they are the worst person in the world.better not to listen instantly on those medias.make a confirmation before trusting them

This is the problem in the social media once that there are little proble or issues they make it as Big issues to them. If this happens well it happened! We don't do anything because it's been ordered by them. The fact is that Everything happens for a reason if this so, then go with it. There are many people saved by media because of their money.

Sometimes it's so hard to understand or accept any news that's not legit but still most of news are good so i think trust in news is still good also even we have some problems,For more good atleast always think what they talk about news or don't listen if it's your mind telling you that's not true or you don't know what really is that another thing don't think or don't move,News have everything so we need that in life.

I agree with Pixie here, this is what usually happens when journalist don't verify his source and he just publish something stupid. Either that or they are just pumping the price, like this player is very interesting to big clubs, he is receiving many offer's and stuff like that. I stopped believing in news long time ago, usually I don't believe until I see with my own eyes or hear from someone I trust, and there is less and less trusted people. In sports this things happens more and more often, so I'm not surprised with this. Let's see what will happen I'm next few days, it will be interesting to see.
