I think the best coin of 2018 is ethereum, because when the altcoin average drops dramatically because the BTC price drops only the ethereum I see decreases not too much and quickly returns to stable when BTC experiences price increases again

Best altcoin for 2018 is Neo. I am sure there will be other altcoins which will have more increase in value however Neo is in top10 and I think it is more trustable and less risky one to invest.
We all know that platforms and smart contracts will be valuable in 2018, Ethereum will keep increasing in value. Neo is a new one for projects which need platforms, and it is more used in Asia where most innovative and hyped projects are introducing.
There is a pressure from Chinese government over Neo, but I expect this will end in this year and there will be a solution for this. Even Chinese government can accept Neo as an official accepted platform. If these happen Neo will be the best one in 2018 for sure

I think the kings of the cryptocurrency world in the 2017 are bitcoin and ethereum, and in my opinion, it is a big probability that this situation will continue. Also I think, IOTA, Waves and Stellar are very promising coins.

I think there are several coins that can compete with ETH this or maybe next year.
XLM with a new ICO (Ternio) proved nice stability during January disaster.
NEO as a new platform for ICOs - and here come one of the most interesting ICOs this year - Neonexchange, Effect and Bridge protocol.
ICX - a huge support from Korean government and also the idea is pretty good - "hyperconnect the world"
