What motherboard do you guys recommend for an i7 CPU?

In the future I'm planning on upgrading my computer some more because the processor is pretty pathetic, if I do this it will work great, I have my eye on an Intel i7 CPU but I'm not sure what motherboard to get I preferably want to get one that makes installation fairly easy, does anyone have any good experiences they can tell me about with their motherboards? With this I should be able to play stuff like Rome 2 Total War at maximum settings finally without much trouble .

How soon do you plan on upgrading.  If you live in the US, newegg is currently running a sale on the i7 4770k.  Gotta do some visa crap but it might be worthwhile.

Micro center always seems to be running some promotion on intel cpus.  The currently have the 4770k for the same price.  As far as the motherboard goes, the consensus with everyone I talk to is Asus if you plan to really overclock it.  However gigabyte and asrock also seem to be popular.  While MSI makes awesome gpus, their MBs seem to be hit or miss.  Stay away from biostar.  I'm actually looking at building a Haswell rig and am considering the gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD4H.  It has support for crossfire/sli and its features to price ratio seems pretty solid.

Not planning on upgrading soon at all but I like to do research you see so I can just order everything when I get the money. I get my stuff from Novatech as I'm in the UK and they've always proven to be reliable in the past, I figured ordering my own parts again would be well worth the frustration of putting it all in considering how much money I'd save.

According to user reviews it's recommended for the CPU that I get a brand new fan because the provided one isn't that good, this has happened to me before with the GPU I bought and I had to get a brand new monitor adaptor because the one provided was shit. The GPU worked great but there was that problem where you paid a fortune for the thing and then they just bundled junk in with it

+1 for Scan always buy there scansure warranty just incase you bend a few pins then you can return it and get a brand new one

What i7 version and socket? i7 is generic name like Celeron, it comes with LGA1366 LGA1156 LGA2011 sockets. The chipset is from X58 to Z87.

Ignore the Hashwell i5 mainstream. LGA2011 is where i7 and Xeon goes.
