So this is my first time setting up a website. Chose Hostgator to get the domain name and it is supposed to come with templates and make it easy to set up.  Im no genius but pretty quick.  Any help would be cool.  THe plan is to get everyone in here and everywhere that offers products or services for bitcoin on this website.  Plus information blogs on bitcoin, maybe some MTGOX charts, add ons, a shopping cart for paypal etc.  Any thoughts, advice, help would be awesome.  I have the domain name      Bitcoinproducts4Sale.com     Going to go with that see what I can do to help the community.  Thanks

OH YEAH AND OF COURSE I WILL DONATE BITCOINS FOR ANYTHING USED IN DESIGN OF THE SITE AND SUGGESTIONS USED, hopefully it will also pay back everyone involved by succeeding and helping sell with bitcoin. THanks

I'm just going to be completely honest and one may not like it.

Making a website will probably be 100% of ones own labor and even then people may or may not use it.

Websites are not easy. They require programming and graphic art skills which are typically paid $50-80/hr.

have you assessed the skills you feel will be necessary to produce and support a website like this?
make a matrix of whats necessary and the skills you have, then you need to try to fill the gaps

rent a coder is a place to fill some of the programming gaps, but you need to work as a project manager, and if you want to use cheap chinese or indian labor be prepared to deal with the language barrier

Theres not supposed to be all that madness and programming and technical skills to get a website going by using these packages?  They include the host, the domain, the website builder, drag and drop system?  That was the point of me paying for a service like this, is to have an easy, drag and drop, template, windows based system to easily set up a website, with links, a payment card, system to get your site high on the google list, draw customers etc.  This package includes all that.  I looked around at many sites that provided hosting, or websites, or domain names, and this one kept coming back up as the best for up time, website building, options and price.  I see people do it all the time with the blog type sites in the same format, I am hoping this is not that tough, and from what I read should not be?  What am I missing here?

Should be no programming or graphic arts specialists, that was the point of this type of website correct?  And of course the help of the  bitcoin community lol.

It may not be necessary to get a site of lists and a forum up and running, but to compete with other sites out there yours will need to have something special about it.
By all means you payed for it give it your best, we just want you to understand that its not a simple feat to produce something of groundbreaking proportions

Im just talking about getting the website up and running. http://bitcoinproducts4sale.com/   it looks like it is up, just need to start figuring out how to get it set up.  I want to get the links to people from here what there selling for bitcoins.  I was thinking a rummage type area for yardsale or craigslist type lists, then actual area for people with websites that sell items for bitcoins, some message board, forums, a MTGOX ticker, etc, any help would be awesome.  Then I can work on getting traffic to the site.

It's not easy to be the next big thing, but bitcoin is new enough to start investing time into.  I started a buy and sell forum based on each seperate US state and Canadian province and it has been like pulling teeth trying to get new members.  Member tc2606 on this forum has $105 adwords gift vouchers to quickly get tons of traffic to your web site for cheap, but make sure it's set up perfectly so people don't want to leave.
