Hi Folks, This is my first post here and I am finding the subject of bitcoins to be fascinating. Trouble is its not that easy getting started. I have cgminer running on slush's pool and it seems to be working but theres a minimum amount that has to be earned before you can withdraw (0.01) and that will take me over a week to mine. Theres a faucet ive joined but thats taking a while. I live in the uk and i have had a quick look at localbitcoins and there are sellers of BTC but most require a bank transfer and I would rather stay away from that at the moment. So after half a week of trying to get somewhere im still at 0.00 BTC which means its not easy to test it out. Any ideas?

The question is: What do you want to get out of Bitcoin?
If you just want to build up a stash, the easiest route to acquiring some coin is either localbitcoins or setting up an account to buy from a legit exchange. Good luck!

The question is "where can I get money"? You can sell stuff, work for it, buy it with other kinds of money. But just like pounds, you are not likely to get it for free. Mining is another option but not an easy one. You could, for example, mine gold. To do that you will have to make a huge investment in equipment, which is why most people buy gold instead of digging all day.

I'm trying to enjoy my 4 hours....but I'm tired Buy them at BTCquick with a credit card, or find someone that accept Western Union. The question is "where can I get money"? There is someone that just mine it with simple equipment and then resell it at 1% of its USD price, just saying (unDemocratic Republic of Congo)

Now that bitcoin is getting more and more popular, mining is not exactly worth it anymore in most circumstances, buying bitcoin or selling your items for bitcoin on bitmit is the best way to go, you can try to gamble or invest them in others or in stock.

You mentioned your mining but it'll take a week to get the .01 BTC needed to payout?
The best options are to buy them directly - most mining hardware available is pretty pricey (if you can find good hardware). I'd avoid ebay because of the scams. localbitcoins.com has good reviews... the forums have options for buying and selling with escrow but I've never used it... I mined most of my coins and bought some others using Dwolla and MtGOX but that was a couple of years ago... now I'm using campbx but your in the UK... good luck!
