Yes this is true with bitcoin. Moreover this year if bitcoin is going down then I'm sure that ETH and alts like LTC, XRP will come up for sure. I guess it is not the first time that they play this game. This is actually what has made them become bigger and bigger whales BTW...

For me the party is not over, there is still many more to come. you can't expect the price to always go up. Traders , holders, and baby investors have problems only when the price of a coin is reducing and then they begin to say all sort of things . you don't have to bw emotional about your investment, remember you have been advised to invest what you can afford to lose.

The development since late December shows very clearly what is happening.

The whales - and anyone else with half a financial brain - are slowly selling all their bitcoin. As they sell, prices begin to drop sharply. They then hold back on the selling and newbies and "HODL'ers" are foolish enough to "buy the dip". This sends the price back up.

It then repeats with rates dropping again, until the newbies and "HODL'ers" buy the dip once more.

Except on every round the dip gets deeper and deeper.

The game is over, and anyone so stupendously stupid to keep buying from the whales who are unloading are basically just throwing their money away.

Face up to reality, the party is over.
After every Bitcoin crash or dip, it usually recovers better than the previous recovery. It's almost as seems that a dip is required for Bitcoin to gain momentum and more value. I personally believe that the game/party is far from over.

I think the game is not over yet, but just now the game is being restarted. notice when bitcoin prices in early 2017 are around $ 2000, and what happens towards the end of 2017 is beyond anyone's prediction where bitcoin prices reach $ 20,000. It's amazing at the moment, and right now I see the same situation is going to happen, for that blessed are the people who are optimistic and still believe in bitcoin. Because I believe that by the end of 2018 there will be a high bitcoin price increase.

The fact will continue to change as time passes, for now the bitcoin falls and that is a reality, but in the future bitcoin will again have a high value will become a reality.

I suppose it's not right to tell so because BTC still costs a lot of money, it just lost some tempo. It can get more rationalized, stable and so valuable for years

I also think that bitcoin can sky rocket again just before the end of this year because bitcoin do always do that way  if we are only basing on its price history. Your also right when you say the game is not yet over because bitcoin is still getting started , many people are still dont recognize it as a legit currency, many countries do not still adopt and legalize it. We can win over those whales if ever these country and people will start to embrace and accept bitcoin.

I have experienced four big drops since I am into cryptocurrency. After every drop the price raised a lot and it went higher that it was before. I don't think the game is over now

Saw what bitcoin been through.. I agree that this is not over, well in fact, it is moving again. I mean growing up the value although it is only 0.38 still! it is moving. unlike any crypto who stucked at their state.

In fact, there is no end of the game, the investment is already a long-term matter, if everyone in your mind, then I think there is no investment to make money

Bitcoins is decentralized and no one can lead it in any particular direction.Actually works in the favor of bitcoins because if by whales you mean it simple means every time they sell some coins they give away some of there hold and power and that would indeed be good for the overall platform because this feature of decentralization is one of the pillars of bitcoins. It is so depressing seeing falling price on bitcoin.

Bitcoin is decentralized, it's true, but its biggest problem is that it's not evenly divided among the people. The lucky people who got in at early stage have a huge advantage and they can keep selling and buying back increasing their position every time.

Well, no one ceases you from what you think to be a reality but the truth is, thinking something is true doesn't make it a reality. I remember quite well, Bitcoin fell to $6K and now at $7k. What do you make of that one too? Or you see $1k increment as irrelevant? Bitcoin is still making surges and it's predicted to hit $8k by the end of the month June. No game is over.

No matter how the situation destroyed there is always a chance for the second time. No matter how hopeless we are there will another time to regain our hope and strengthening our desires to face again our challenges and struggles in life. So the second chance is always there at the side of our choices. There is always a hope for every time that it seems game over. We have our own choice to choose what we should. It is a matter of decision making whether we choose to remain hopeless in game over situation or hopeful.

I fully agree with the author of the article. This is just a game in which win those who know how to endure and wait. And those who give in to panic, inevitably lose their money

what is the meaning of this discussion? can not you make sure bitcoin still has a high selling price value even though the decline always happens this year. what happened in the year 2017 december ago is the phenomenon and the impact of the correction plus the prohibition. so it's perfectly natural if that happens. and the market will not always grow high. you should know that. and essentially, bitcoin has gone through a decade more and persisted.

It is very skeptical and dull analysis. Yes, many people came out from bitcoin especially when the price fell sharply from $ 19,000, but this does not mean that bitcoin died. I do not agree with you that there is nothing to do in the crypto. Remember 4 years ago, when bitcoin cost $ 25. Everyone said it was a pyramid and it would soon burst. As you see not burst ))))

This is not the end of crypto currency. This is just the beginning so how can you possibly say that it will soon end.

There was so lot of bad news about bitcoin but yet still bitcoin still standing until now. So it will be more better to buy more and more bitcoin as we all know it will skyrocket again when all whales pump it again.

Clearly the author has no idea of the most basic law in Economics which is the law of supply and demand. It was pretty much obvious that the ATH the previous year was due to the fact that a lot of investors entered the market in hope of riding the trend. Eventually, people began selling out due to the price surge leading to a dip and then a market correction. I agree with your statement, his analysis is very far-fetch from what is exactly happening. Bitcoin's not dead.
