win7 64 bit / 13.4 ccc... i have tried a few different driver versions without much difference, not sure if i did 13.1 though. new system installed windows less than a week ago I can always go back and give 13.1 a try to make sure though. i know this is 2x 7970 on one board, but it's not quite the same as 2x actual 7970. my killawatt reads about 230w at startup, 150w idle, and is bouncing around between 600-620w while mining. so the card is definitely pulling less than 500w... maybe 400-450w? not sure how i can test the card independently of the rest of the system. it looks like i will need to go with a new psu if i add another 7990, but i knew i probably would anyway. (edit) just for reference, my 4x 7950 system pulls about 1.1kw and hashes at twice the speed of this 7990.... so it is right about where i was guessing it would be you should install 13.1 instead of 13.4 ,uninstall in control panel, and then using driver sweeper to "clear" again trust me ), 7990 is as same as 2 7970s

you should install 13.1 instead of 13.4 ,uninstall in control panel, and then using driver sweeper to "clear" again trust me ), 7990 is as same as 2 7970s if it is the same, why am i only pulling ~600w? not trying to be a smartass, just wanting to understand all the inner workings of it i am downloading 13.1 to try out now... @mass another dumb question how do you know you have "Sapphire 7990 (Tahiti)"? I thought both GPU's were tahiti but the combined board and GPU is called Malta.
Also why do you use "cgminer 3.1.1/ catalyst 13.4" I think i have cgminer 3.4/catalyst 13.8".
Should I downgrade?
I'm asking because I can't really stabilize this card and I've tried several settings.
i am using cg 3.1.1 because i just copied it from the other mining rig, was too lazy to go re download. ditto on the drivers, i have about 5 or 6 different versions on my usb drive, but 13.1 wasn't among them i say tahiti because when i look at the devices available in guiminer (i don't use guiminer, but i have it ) it reads as tahiti. maybe the board is called malta and it reads as tahiti because it is just 2 of them on one 'malta' board? i did use 13.8 and didn't have any luck with it so yes i would downgrade. not sure about cgminer, probably fine there but downgrade the driver. 13.4 was working well for me and i am going to try 13.1 in a few minutes. did you turn off ulps and undervolt it? what are your temps / settings?

i am confused because you said 2x 7970 = 1050w, now you say 4x 7970 = 1200w, which does sound a lot better... maybe i read something wrong? (edit) whoops, wrong link http://www.techspot.com/review/663-amd-radeon-hd-7990/page8.htmlthat review shows 7990 at 491w under stress, which is about what i expected from it thcst8, did you turn off ulps and change voltage? that made a huge difference for my temps. i could run at standard voltage but it got up into the 90's in no time at all. at lowered voltage it runs 83 all the time

i am having the same issue, rebooted several times, uninstalled ccc, manually removed files, ran driver sweeper, rebooted in between each step, disabled AB... for some odd reason 13.1 won't even give me the driver as an option when i use the custom installer. i just set up access to all my games and downloaded one... plus the blockchain i realllllly don't wanna download again, but it looks like i am gonna have to format and try with a fresh install of windows

try removing the video cards in device manager then add them back.
The temperature was slowly creeping up to high.
GPU 0 - 73.0C GPU 1 - 79.0C 1.29 Mh/s average after 7 minutes
MSI Afterburner Settings: Core Voltage (mV): 1100 Core Clock (MHz): 906 Memory Clock (MHz): 1000
Do I just keep changing the values around till something works?

those are a little high but not too high. basically, yes... take a look at other setting for 7970 and go from there at 1080v core 1090 mem 1500 i was getting 1.36mh/s with temps at 83/74 stable it can also be tough to make sure the voltage settings took / you got ulps disabled properly, for me cgminer wouldn't report the cards voltage correctly but i knew because temps would go down using the same settings. just play around with a few different numbers for a while and see how your card reacts, then narrow it down to what works best

format and fresh install of windows, still 13.1 package won't list the display driver as an option in the custom installer. can either of you share a link to where you got a working version?

now this is getting on my nerves lol

well, i downloaded the 13.1 package from 4 different spots and none of them would allow me to install a display driver, same thing with 12.11beta. i installed 13.5beta and tc 8192 works but only at i 13 and low core/mem clocks. even then it is much slower than my previous settings. i will play around with 8192 a little bit but i think my original settings are gonna be best for me.

yea... not so much... everything i try with tc 8192 either runs real slow for me (1-1.1mhs), spits back hw errors, or crashes the display driver so i will be sticking to 1.08v tc 24000 i 20 g 2 w 256 core 1090 mem 1500 for 1.365mhs at 83/74 degrees was hoping to get over 1.4mhs with this card but i guess it's close enough

I get about 680 with my settings.... can't seem to make it do any better. when I tried your settings I only got 550.... only difference is driver version though
my 13.8 driver installed and seems to work fine, but I got a failed package error during the install. video transcoder. I don't think it should affect anything but I am going to play with it and see if I can't make it install without any errors first
