if I could get your settings working I just might take that 660 hashrate so I won't need a new psu! 850w... that's crazy ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

I get about 680 with my settings.... can't seem to make it do any better. when I tried your settings I only got 550.... only difference is driver version though
my 13.8 driver installed and seems to work fine, but I got a failed package error during the install. video transcoder. I don't think it should affect anything but I am going to play with it and see if I can't make it install without any errors first
nah,you only need to install amd driver...otherthings should be ignored. i13 tc 8192 g2 ,nothing more 3-4 hours ran ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fi829.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fzz215%2Fronaldinho_tnt07%2FUntitled_zps45fe0e9b.jpg%7Eoriginal&t=664&c=7_lda2GAA8uK6g)

what exactly does the -g flag do? I can't seem to find it in the --help
again with your settings my display driver crashes, but if i set it to g1 then it goes just fine but only at about 550khash
with my settings g1/g2 didn't seem to make any difference (edit) before it didn't that is ... now with the 13.8 driver g1 crashes my setings, but g2 works
so for now with 13.8- your settings g1 works g2 crashes, my settings g1 crashes g2 works

The -g <arg> setting is how many gpu threads to start, if you have only 1 gpu then -g1 with a TC of 64 * bit-width (or slightly less for me) or -g 2 with TC of (64 * bit-wdith) / 2 should be used, if you have a 7990 then -g 2 would be best, there is probably better settings but if i got a 7990 i would first try -g 2 and --thread-concurrency 16384 (i think the bit-width of 7990 is 256, i could be wrong though).

ronaldinho, any chance you could paste the text of the cgminer.conf you're using to get those results? i think something in there is messing me up
start E:\cgminer-3.1.1-windows\cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://hk.litecoinpool.org:3333 -u xxxx -p xxxx -I 13 -g 2 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 8192 --lookup-gap 2 --api-listen --api-allow w:192.168.1.0/24 --gpu-reorder --gpu-fan 100 i'm using .bat file instead of .conf

I guess that's where I went wrong. i was using my .bat just to set_gpu_max_alloc_percent and launch cgminer

just when i think i'm done ....
my 7990 has been stable hashing for a few days, and nothing changed on that pc as far as installations / configurations, etc
now suddenly it will overheat and cgminer stops. i noticed it randomly stopped once yesterday and didn't think much of it, reboot and it ran fine all night / day. today i opened up the windows and turned off ac since it got cool here and started looking closer to see if temps got any better, but they are actually worse. the ambient temp is much lower but my card is actually heating up faster and going over 95 where cgminer auto stops within maybe 20 minutes
double checked my voltage, ulps off, etc... no clue why it is doing this all of a sudden. any ideas?

I moved 2 of my case fans so they are sitting directly on top of the card pulling heat up and away from that side of the card, and temps are now stable at 80. Weird that it ran for so long with no issues and then heat suddenly became a problem, but it seems to be cleared up with that. Now if I could just figure out why my hashrate dropped ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) not gonna work too hard over 30khs... just a bit annoying lol

is the whole thing failing or one part failing? I had the same problem with it and the previous version mentioned above where some package was failing to install, but the driver installs and works just fine. using 13.10 right now with the same settings and my extra fans keep it at 81/74 and lower at night.
also don't forget to clear out the old .bin files from your cgminer folder, when changing drivers and settings. that was a stability issue for me
