Trying to sell some coins with high gains to buy some that has dipped alot, but it seems they all move up and down together for the most part.  This makes it hard to sell. Is this how it normally is?  Been trading just a month now.

Not usually. Mostly influenced by the huge swings of btc right now.

Alt coins are priced in BTC terms so normally they will follow BTC up or down depending on the fluctuations of bitcoin itself. However sometimes alt coins will diverge from the price of Bitcoin when they have active development, e.g. a second exchange listing, release of a white paper or an updated wallet. So its best to keep an eye on the alt coin team and their activity for a coins you are interested in. How active are they on github? What have they done recently for their ecosystem? Coins can go very far with social media alone, look at Dogecoin, it is not known as a highly technological advanced coin and yet the DOGE market cap has snowballed.

Coins seem to have relationship with one another, but they are mostly concerned with btc. They are dependent to it. But there are cases that some coins increase or decrease on their own without concerning btc.

Every altcoin out there is traded with bitcoins, so when bitcoins drop in value, the USD value of the altcoin usually follows.  There are many instances where the altcoin will rise significantly during the btc drop and this would be a good time to consider swing trading.  It's not good to sell when everything is going down.

As my experiences, when Bitcoin getting drop, many altcoin will increasing up, it will happen in other ways. But in fact, from December last year, all the coins move together, with Bitcoin as point of trend view in market.

The December-thing may be caused by the news from banning cryptotrading in some good countries. But generally, as per experience also, altcoin is inversely proportional to the movement of bitcoin.
To MonkeyBrain, try looking at binance. There are still altcoins there that are in dips.

Not at all.Every coins has what it is based on, the value of the service or product that the coins is derived from differs, so not all coin move in same direction. But when bigger coins like bitcoins and ether suffer heavy losses or gains ,they one way other affect other coins.

As i know usually always coins move together because most of the tokens are in symbo with ETH or BTC. So when price for ETH or BTC fall down. Tokens and alts price also drops.

Not all, but most of the time, most of the coins will move up and down together, only a small part of which has its own moving, so it is difficult to swap ports if they are all down unless you are sold out at the beginning, and buy when dump.

Alts have different movements but some of coins has always been moving together, like the marijuana family THC,DOPE,CANN, etc. because they are in the same category but these movements will still depends to what BTC is doing if the BTC starts to go wildly for sure these coins will bleed and will recover lately.

After continuing to set a record price increase, Bitcoin's digital money value began to fall. decline in value of Bitcoin in a day even reached 1,000 US dollars. This may affect all altcoins until the price rises and falls,,

Generally, it does.  All crypto coins move together in the same way that all currency move together.  The strongest currency will have its push or pull effect on all others accross the globe in the same way that bitcoin plays this role, so will its rise and low of value impact the other altcoins circulating the market.  Everything gets traded with bitcoin and I think it is only logical that it's value, in a way, effects the value of altcoins out there.  Although, I feel that there will be a time that some other coin will get to dictate this trend, it's either one of our forefront runners like ethereum and litecoin. If that is the case, eitherway, other altcoins will get affected by its movement.

Most of all move when bitcoin does, this remind us that bitcoin is still a giant and we dont have to underestimate this coin. There are also some Coins in the market that move the opossite than bitcoin, check market cap and you will see the green ones in the red sea haha. I hope I helped you, good luck.
