not really, but you should aware that bitcoin is almost affecting all alternate coin. I am not sure why, but maybe many platform used bitcoin as a transaction method. If bitcoin go down or up, many alternate coin will follow it. But it is possible for alternate coin it self go up without when bitcoin is still steady.
Perhaps the status of bitcoin is too important. If anyone thinks Bitcoin does not work. He may take for granted that other coins will not work either.

I have observed that for when the btc price rises the altcoins falls and when the btc prices falls altcoins do fall again. But after a short while or in a day the altcoins starts to move upwards again though not all coins but few coins which has being dumped badly during the fall. This actually gives us a very good opportunity when the falls happen to buy those coins at lower price.

In my personal opinion, all crypto currency are directly or indirectly dependable on Bitcoin. When bitcoin gets down,  most of the crypto currency also get down. Majority coins are influenced by the price of Bitcoin. So i think most of the time, all coins move together.

I agree with you about bitcoin dependency of altcoins. They generally don't move alone, they're linked to each other and the general trend of the crypto markets. This is how they move on the exchanges.

All coins follow bitcoin trend and whichever direction start in bitcoin, generally all altcoins start moving in that direction and it is a normal phenomenon. Only some exceptions not follow bitcoins due to their own reasons.

That is what i also noticed about the crypto market that almost cryptos are down together when bitcoin is down too. I think that is because each crypto has a pairing directly to bitcoin and so whenever the price of btc depreciates, so as alt coins' price too.

Not always. Some coins are affected by others, that is why you think that they move together, but they do not

I'd guess this phenomenon is normal to cryptocurrency they're kinda related to each other. One thing is for sure if alts will go down BTC would stay a bit longer before following the trend.

I don't think Altcoins move together except during a specific event wherein Bitcoin is being massively dumped.. This usually means that funds are flowing into alt coins which makes 'most' of them move together.

according to me this is not how everything works.
though you are not completely wrong but when one major coin increases or decreases it does have an affect on others which may or may not be significant but no two coins are directly related.
they indirectly affect each other.
so ignore the mainstream coins and try investing in some low profile with high potential coins.

Yes you are right. Usually, the whole market follows the price of bitcoin. But there are some coins which do not follow this rule and have recorrelation.

No, currently they are moving because Bitcoin drops. In a stable market you will see a lot of action. Sadly BTC is correcting atm.

The father of coins or cryptocurrency is Bitcoin. And based on my observation, when the bitcoin increases or decreases its value, the other coins follws. I think they are all dependent on the value of bitcoin. This is just my observation on how cryptos works.

it is the money flow, so if you want to understand how things work, you need to follow the money so to speak.

try and figure out where it is going. in or out, and where. for example each time bitcoin is rising you can see the same drop in altcoins and if you check the volume, you can see the "money" has gone to bitcoin and has dropped out of altcoins.
and during the bitcoin stability periods, the "money" is going into altcoins. but if you look closer you can see that the money is spread but the smart money is focused only on 2 or 3 altcoins tops which will be getting pumped as a result and then that smart money moves on to the next 2 or 3 altcoins. rinse and repeat.

Do not jump to conclusions judging by the events that took place this January. Yes, this time almost all coins went down together, but as a rule, it happens very rarely. I am still have a great belief that NEO, Cardano, ETH, DASH and LTC will gain much and it will happen soon.

Trying to sell some coins with high gains to buy some that has dipped alot, but it seems they all move up and down together for the most part.  This makes it hard to sell. Is this how it normally is?  Been trading just a month now.

sometimes . it depends on the coin . there are also a factor on the price of bitcoin if the bitcoin price is rising the altcoin value increases in my own opinion. Make sure when you are buying a token you better check the website and update of specific coin
What if a specific coin and their *devs are cloning another coin? they could start buying their coins before updating their website or updating their huge community (low rank beggars getting paid to bump their thread).
You must've heard about my activity tokens, would you like to know what was needed for me to actually succeed? no support of the community, any exchanging service given enough incentive would've listed them and people would've traded them even after seeing theymos implementing merits and no such a thing as activity tokens. current situation with every coin, they have no system in place to use them, people are trading them knowing that there is nothing to use the coins on.
There was a failed ICO recently, the *devs were trying to refund investors, some idiots were buying the useless tokens, knowing the ICO had failed.

🖤😏
