Hello,

ordering a batch of cablesi n china.

Can I use 1x -> 16x cables on all slots, including the 16x? I know, bandwidth is bad, but that should not be an issue - otoh it means I only have one cable set here that I need to keep Wink

Whats up?

I need to get some PCIE extension cables so I can host a few cards outside of the box.

Is this what you guys are referring to? If so, could you drop a link where I can purchase?

Much thanks,

DKN

Cablesaurus has a good reputation for the extenders around here.
No secret referral links, their name gets thrown around a lot.

You can buy the cables directly from china.  Just do an ebay search and you should locate them as low as $3 with free shipping.  You can probably do better.  Delivery is about 3 weeks.

That's roughly 1/4 the price on cablesaurus when bought in bulk -- the business model is obvious.  Buy in bulk, and sell at a 2-3x price multiple to the impatient.  If only monoprice would dogpile on this...

Where can i buy this in china? Shanghai?

Hong Kong if you want 'quality' (in the Chinese sense)

and mainland China if you want stuff that was thrown together as soon as possible without any testing
with whatever materials were obtainable.
