I will be adding a block explorer for each coin on P2Pool.org.

Also you can always use P2Pool.org as an addnode for your wallets if you are having trouble syncing.

Happy Mining everyone!

Bitbar went poof...

I have restarted it.

I think the problem with this crap is that people keep trying to mine the wrong algo.

I had a person the other day email me and ask why they been mining FTC for a whole day with a Block Erupter and haven't received payment, DOH!

I should probably post the algo type somewhere around the coin.

Or maybe split them up into sections? Rather than list them all together and mark each individual one?

Also, what you're saying is other people hashing on the wrong algo is facking things for the rest of us? Lame...

Yeah, it messes the pool up a little bit.

Causes a high DOA rate and some times actually stops P2Pool from working, like you experienced with BitBar.

I can see it happening, I know what address is doing it, but I have no way to really stop them or warn them.

If I can find a way to get the IP address of the user from their coin address then I could at least block them, but I haven't found that out yet.

tcpdump or if it's something simple like 1 person mining to one port (or even 3 or 4 to one port), should be able to figure it out with some tcpkills

Thanks.

I suppose I could use something like WireShark also to see what IP is sending data with the address too.

Never really thought about that.

Thank you for the suggestion.

Any ideas why we're getting so many work restarts on SPT stratum? I'm not seeing nearly as many blocks come through as work restarts, and accepted shares seem sporadic

You need to make your share diff smaller.

Append this to your wallet address in your miner: +0.00058207

So your command would look like:

miner --scrypt -o p2pool.org:9775 -u MFdqEmmo8a6mT6a8WjMb2BmKaQPrFx2PK6+0.00058207 -p spt

Keep adjusting that until you find a steady setting.

I will be adding these details and a better explanation to the site soon.

Perhaps I can make a calculator for it so it's easier for the end user.

Sweet! Thanks for the info! Calculator would be awesome! I'll be sending donation as soon as I break even on these cards. I'm making almost twice as much with you as I was with multipools, so totally worth it

No, you can start mining right away with the address generated by your wallet, and your coins will come in as they are seen on the blockchain

EDIT: So, you can mine before the sync is done, but your coins just won't show up until fully synced. You won't hurt anything or miss out on coin by mining before that tho. Hope that clarifies a little.

I give up on Grandcoin for now.

Every time P2Pool submits a block to the client it kills the client and P2Pool can't get more work.

I will continue to look for a solution to this issue.
