... I hate to be posting this. I have traded with jason countless times, but I loaned him 300 usd and now he is ducking me. Me told me he thought he could pay back half in 3-5 days and all of it by day 10... it has been 12 days and nothing and is not responding to messages.

I mean, it is possible to charge it back if you phoned your bank and asked but it's up to you really.

I dont know I never tried, but it is not like I used my debit card to fund it so I dont see what my bank would have to do with it. It never went to my bank..shit PP is basically my bank so if they wont refund me I cant get refunded.

Let me put it like this i have no idea where the funds came from, could have been a MP or a ebay payment or a bank transfer or a bitcoin sale.

I am pretty confident that the only way I am gonna see the 300 usd again is if Jason pays it back to me.

No it is not as easy as people think to charge back paypal. You cant dispute gift payments sent from your normal IP address if it is funded from our balance or bank.

It is not PP that charges back it is the bank or credit card company most of the time.

If you send a payment for an item you can claim it wasnt received and if the other person can upload tracking they will side with you.

**edit** let me rephrase it you can charge back or dispute anything you want but you still wont get the funds back.

Oh!  Well yeah, if you are using paypal for gift payments you are kind of screwed.  According to their TOS, commercial transactions cannot be done as gifts.  The proper way to do it would have been to set-up an invoice for the amount, delivery date of whenever you expected it to be repaid, and that way you could file an INR a few days after the day it was supposed to be due.

Still not 100% kosher per paypal policy, but at least you are protected.  (Make the item named a rare item so that it would be hard or him to mail it to you and forgo paying!)  But it's just like setting up a collateral.

Oh.  I missed the part where you guys were friends.  I thought he was just some guy you know on the interwebz.  Yeah, that sucks then, but I guess you know who your real friends aren't!

You got it I have traded with jason about 50 times he always sent first and sold me btc-e codes at great rates. I even let him rent my rig out to mine power coins for him.

I figured it was a 90 percent chance he would pay back, he offered to pay interest on the loan and i told him i dint need it and would just loan him the money.

Well, my dad always said if you loan a friend 20 bucks and you never see that friend again, it was worth your 20 bucks.  Idk what he'd say about 300 though!

It is worth 300 to find out someones character IMO. I have been entrusted with around 130k in usd and business worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. They say everyone has a price. I havent found mine yet. My integrity would be very expensive.  I had a homeless Vietnamese guy give me his BP settlement from the oil spill 48k. He didnt even know my last name, i could have easily taken the money, but could not have lived with myself.

Jason contacted me and says he plans on repaying and has had personal issues. I have a long trading history and will give him the benefit of doubt.

Here is his message to me

Hey Bro,

I'm not scamming you. I'm really sorry that I did not able to back on time. My pc was damage I cannot online. I did able to access using old linux pc at some time but I cannot view/reply messages on facebook. It is using outdated seamonkey browser I did not know how to update. It's been like hell here for 3 weeks. Three typhoon and monsoon (habagat). It's been raining here for 3 weeks that causes flooding, power outage and internet signal disruption at times. You can search it on internet. I did not able to work online and finished my projects. Now we are now slowly recovering from that mess. I hope I can pay you back. I have 2.5 btc right now but I really needed this for my family. I promised to pay you back with interest.  Hoping you understand me. I don't want to destroy that trust you give to me.

Thanks,
Jason

and the rest of the conversation...

Thanks for understanding.
I'm finding a buyer for my websites now. Hoping to find a buyer soon. So that I can pay you back.

Nice to here that you are gonna make good on the loan we enjoy dealing with you.

Thanks again. I will find ways to pay you back as soon as possible.

NP

I have removed my neg rating for now.

OP, you might want to consider removing his contact info as well as there is no need for anyone else to try to contact him since you have made contact!
