Network setup for my rig room

I'm in the process of constructing a room for the rigs. I'm going to end up with two shelves, each handling 15 rigs. Each rig will handle up to 6 or 7 GPUs depending on GPU power needs.

My main internet router is on the 1st floor. I don't want to drill holes to get to this "server room" in the basement hence I will be using PowerLine kit such as this:

Originally, I was going to get another satellite for my Netgear Orbi router system in the server room then split from there, but some people from this forum have told me that PowerLine would be more reliable than WiFi. Orbi has been super-reliable for me though.

This is my router system, if that matters:

From there, I'm going to use the two ethernet connectors present in the PowerLine adapter into two of these switches, one on each shelf:

Don't worry about the ventilation - that's all properly covered with very high CFM fans + proper air movement over the components. No air conditioning involved here.

I'm absolutely not an expert in the networking field, hence seeking for some advices before plunging into this. Does anyone see any issues with this approach?

Hard wire via ethernet.

Buy a quality switch with enough ports.

Ie :

Drill a hole and be done with it.

Use 2 cables

 one  from the router  to the switch
second keep dead  with one end at the router  the other end at the switch.

Stick to the powerlines. I use a powerline, never had any problems. Rather have my powerlines than wifi.

I have 300 internet and on this Im getting 220 and its a floor below.

I currently operate 9 rigs all over my house, using similar adapters. I do see few disconnects during the day though, but not serious enough to impact revenue.

Are you saying you are going to have 300 of those in the same room??? Wow.

At op lots of heat .  lots of it !

30 kwatts if they are 1080 tis that is 120,000 btus

btw 30 kwatts  is 20 of these on full power

not sure  if you can cool the space

Yes a lot of heat!  

Currently, I have 50 1080 Ti's. Those already produce quite a bit of heat. I'm prepared for more heat though but with proper ventilation.

I will mix some 1070s in there to control hotspots. I can also throttle GPUs.

At least that is my plan...

I have a bunch of issues with powerline adapters just on my PS4 alone. The main router (nighthawk) is on the second floor, PS4 is in the basement. I was getting massive packet drops. I upgraded to a new one and haven't had any issues. The USB adapter I posted is rock solid. No disconnects at all.

Why would PowerLines be iffy? Too much noise in the line because of the cards?

If I am forced to go WiFi, perhaps it might be better to go with my original plan - get another Orbi satellite then split from there? It has to be more reliable than 30 individual WiFi adapters, no?

Also, dropping wires is kinda complicated - the basement room is not directly below where the router is. In fact, it requires quite a bit of wiring to get there. Still, I may consider that as an option if that is the most reliable approach.

I am working with a HVAC guy. I'm aiming for a full recycle of air every 10 secs or so. Plus fans blowing directly behind each rig so no stale air anywhere.

Remember, I am already operating 9 of these...

It would be fine, however, if you are worried about it, my best recommendation is to get dedicated internet in the room from your ISP. Just have them run the cable to it and get a router.

yes  the lines will be getting 30 power supply waves on the ac level if you have 30 rigs with 30 psu's

I did say I would consider adding lines...

There's going to be a lot of exposed wires. The biggest challenge will be my wife.

They don't have to be exposed.  There are plenty of cable raceway systems that can be attached to the wall and painted the same color as the wall ... Just one example ...
