OK it is beta release, does this actually mean you'll get new genesis and start over after you've verified your verifies ?
or do you just hope it will takeoff and if it doesnt you can say, hey it was beta.

I don't think it'd be exactly fair to anyone that's been mining it to reset the coin to zero.

Stuck syncing at block 1508, which is right before the checkpoint you added.  Has the blockchain already split into two?

so you're really gonna take that name for a pointless copycat which has nothing more to do with pi than some parameters? aww man.

You didn't read the question.

Mathematically, it's kind of pointless to calculate digits of pi beyond a certain point.

The description states "crypto-homage to the circle" so digits of pi as parameters made sense. Got a better name for it?
anyway?
beyond that, isn't just about every coin out there a clone

- for the person that asked: it's scrypt.

Heck yes! I'll have all the frivolous mathy-tributy coins you can give! >> 9yd2ugGLUhmPpgDf22kdryLMREUGUEZns1 (EDIT: oh no, I had a totally wrong address here at first!)

I am though still stuck on block 1508. Here's the exact error:

Code:
SetBestChain: new best=e63ee38da2753aa741dd  height=1508  work=3784007055  date=08/25/13 20:25:11
ProcessBlock: ACCEPTED
received block e9a04b445421b06749d7
ERROR: AcceptBlock() : rejected by checkpoint lockin at 1509
ERROR: ProcessBlock() : AcceptBlock FAILED
disconnecting node 71.181.74.10:55884
Disconnected 71.181.74.10:55884 for misbehavior (score=100)

Steps to reproduce:
Code:
git clone https://github.com/bongzilla/PiCoin
cd PiCoin/src;
make -f makefile.unix

mkdir ~/.picoind/
cat > ~/.picoind/picoind.conf <<< "rpcuser=PiCoinrpc
rpcpassword=extremelysecretpassword
addnode=71.181.74.10
addnode=174.52.49.253"

./PiCoind -printtoconsole -gen=1 -conf=/home/$USER/.picoind/picoind.conf -datadir=/home/$USER/.picoind/

p2p.0x0a.nl for all your Cryptographic Anomaly, Cypherfunks, FryCoin, GameCredits, Gulden, PenguinCoin, and TittieCoin p2pool nodes! Err.. I mean needs! .. Both.

I have the same problem, please help me, please send me some coin, my address is: 9ugJa87naPXV5obKV4HpysZqEkQfekLU5D

One more thing, you should modify block 1508 checkpoints which you defined in checkpoints.cpp, just comment this line in checkpoints.cpp:
//(      1509, uint256("0x000000e4fae39746f10875c24334d6441c77d1ead055061cc6ab237ea535af6b"))

I compiled a windows version of PiCoin, Windows QT for PiCoin can be downloaded here:
