I've followed the instructions from the multibit website's help section and keep getting stuck when trying to make the installer executable.  I installed java no problem.

When I try the command "chmod +x multibit-0.5.12-linux.jar" it says:
"Cannot acces 'multibit-0-5-12-linux.jar' no such file or directory"

When I try "java -jar multibit-0.5.12-linux.jar" it says:
"Error: unable to access jar file multibit-0-5-12-linux.jar"

This is after downloading java from www.java.com and installing.

FYI I'm using Ubuntu v12.10 (32-bit)

What are you guys using for a bootable USB?  I want to use Ubuntu because I've heard its safer than windows but so far its a huge pain in the ass.
