With this new Merit system implemented to boost posting quality here in the forum, should the negative and positive feedback given in relation to post quality be removed now and give the users a second chance on proving themselves?

The two systems are completely separate. The users already have a second chance at proving themselves. All they have to do is improve there post quality and after a sufficient period of time ask the person that left the trust to review that decision. If they have received merit points as well during that time that may well be seen as something in their favour.

How about you tell us first which alt(s) account(s) are you representing?

There's no penalty system with merit right now, only a reward system.
So we'll remove the positive trust feedbacks and keep the negative trust, sounds fair?
red trust for penalty, merit for reward?

I will definitely use the account with negative trust to ask this if I have one Smiley

I am just curious, with all the recent happenings here in the forum including The Pharmacist and actmyname leaving negative feedback to users with really bad quality posts even users shouldn't be rated because of their post quality as theymos stated years ago, now he implemented the Merit system, I would like to know TP and actmyname's opinion (maybe including you)

There's no penalty system with merit right now, only a reward system.
So we'll remove the positive trust feedbacks and keep the negative trust, sounds fair?
red trust for penalty, merit for reward?

That clears things, I forgot there is no demerit as of now so probably the trust feedback should be kept. Thanks Smiley

I wouldn't be surprised if we saw the addition of "demerit" once the system has been tested a bit more. I think the main problem with this is that it will be easily abused. For instance, I'd imagine all those users The Pharmacist & co have negged will be quite eager to give him negative merit, regardless of his post quality. Unlike with trust, where you can see individual ratings, merit just shows an absolute score, so such brigading would be pretty effective.
