At August 8, 2017  Bitcoin forked. Now there are two "bitcoins" but just one is what Bitcoin used to be (Bitcoin Cash aka BCH) while the other one is just digital lead (Bitcoin Core aka BTC).

They do not know anything about coins yet, so they are wrongfully buying or scam their purchased coins. so you really need to ask questions first. So, I have to admit I use to be a broker awhile ago I got out of the markets 2 months before 2008 sept crash. I haven’t traded anything since then, I been too busy traveling around the world for so many years to even bother looking at shares as I have been busy focusing on healing myself and healing and helping others and homeless animals.

I'm guessing a lot of newbies do indeed buy the wrong coin, when coins misrepresent themselves. What coin do you think newcomers want to know about if they are looking at bitcoin.com or look at @bitcoin Twitter?

Then again, with the way almost every altcoin across the board has performed in the past six months, we've basically got first-time cash-rich newcomers buying random coins and still making tidy profits. I've got people whom I warned last year not to go all-in on Bitcoin and others now telling me I should have had more faith as a user.

Hard to teach lessons until they're learnt I guess.

that's a very goid notice you've given. It's difficult understanding crypto if you are new. Even those who have already spent sometime in it find it difficult sometimes but just be careful and then you'll flow with the system. We are all learning. You can even be scammed if you are even a hero member. Thanks once again for the awareness

There a lot of forked coin from bitcoin, go to wikipedia and type bitcoin fork. All kind of bitcoin fork will show up such as bitcoincash, bitcoin diamond, bitcoin gold etc. They can chose whatever coin they want to invest, every body got their own mind about it, and if that fork really improve something such as reduce fee and make faster transaction there no time to wory about wich one is real.

There aren't 2 "Bitcoin", but 2 cryptocurrency with different name which is Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash. While i disagree with Bitcoin Cash scaling solution & roadmap, people/services/exchange shouldn't misleading Bitcoin with Bitcoin Cash, especially when users buy Bitcoin but got Bitcoin Cash and vice versa.
Well, most people actually call Bitcoin Core just Bitcoin but there are other people out there calling Bitcoin Cash just Bitcoin, decentralization makes impossible to have consensus amoung every one of us but when I say there are 2 Bitcoins I mean 2 coins with the code written by Satoshi (althought BTC was modified with Segwit).

Do you really support the LN? Shocked

That comparison is made in favor of Bcash, it's just propaganda.
Your comparison doesn't even mention SegWit, which is a big advantage of Bitcoin, it allows Lightning transactions on the mainnet.
A stable lighting implementation for Bitcoin Core will make all altcoins unnecessary, including your Bcash.

Lightning transactions offchain, not on the mainet. Watch the video and repply me again after doing this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k14EDcB-DcE
Segwit makes 0 confirm transactions (faster than LN) unsecure, how is this an advantage?

LN will never work, is too difficult and expensive to open and close lightning channels.
Just nerds will understand the basic setup steps of the LN :

PS: BCash is a fork of ZCash (https://medium.com/@freetrade68/announcing-bcash-8b938329eaeb), I was talking about Bitcoin (Cash) this kind of uninformed comments just make the enviroment more confusing to the newbies.

Sure! More you learn, more BCH you hold and less BTC.

After you close the channel it will be broadcast on the mainnet, like the video also mentions.
There is a reason why I mentioned 'A stable lightning implementation', sure there are some problems that we don't have a solution for yet but does that mean we never will? Increasing the blocksize is too easy and just adds more centralization. If Bitcoin would be subjected to the same blocksize increase then I wouldn't be able to keep my node running, because it would cost my to much space.

Of course it's one's own responsibility buying altcoins without any knowledge or experience. Hopefully they learn from it when they've bought the wrong altcoins and hopefully it's not an expensive lesson.

I have my doubts that is the majority it seems you support bitcoin cash and that is fine but the official name of the fork is bitcoin cash, they were the ones to fork if instead the devs were the ones to hard fork the coin and leave then the altcoin will be bitcoin core and we will consider it as such, the miners decided to start their own independent project despite the fact they knew too well we will get a bunch of forks afterwards and that situation will create even more confusion as to which coin is the real bitcoin.

The reason why most newbies are choosing BTC over BCH is because they see the current value of the two and from that they make their decision and also because BTC is very popular thats what drives most of the people into investing into that coin.

Why won't you try to convince us instead of saying that Bitcoin Cash (aka Bcash) is the Satoshi's vision of Bitcoin? I don't neglect it but I would like to hear some good arguments. It would be nice if you could create a thread which aim would be to explain the differences between all Bitcoin forks. Why would I buy Bitcoin Cash when I can buy Bitcoin Gold which is cheaper and can be mined with GPUs? Why increasing the blocksize is better than the Lightning Network which is slowly getting ready?
