Infinitum Coin toning or on purpose ?

Just received my set of coins and noticed the Leo 2 Oz has what looks to be tarnish around the lettering. However it also looks like it was possibly done on purpose to me.  Wondering if others have seen the same ? https://imgur.com/a/RKNw3

That has to be intentionally done as the coins are produced. Toning is usually much nicer coloring than just black from what I have seen on eagles/morgans etc...

That is what I’m thinking-seemed to be done on purpose. I don’t mind it. Happy with their coins overall. However their capsules are junk and many came partly broken.

Looks antiqued and intentional.  

I imagine a process involving either gases and or heat.  Hard to control uniformity.

 Perhaps it was intentional like some suggested.

But if not and it bothers you, you can ask to get a replacement instead.

Interesting toning... was the silver content of the coin ever tested by a community member?

The most similar instance of toning I could find after a quick google was this:

It's a silver dime w/ blue toning around the edges, still some differences in appearance.

I agree. Besides their super shitty capsules that are made for garbage coins..I still plan to pick up their ICO coin, probably today actually.

I wouldn't think they did it on purpose and it might have been a side effect of one of the processes they perform on the metal.  If it was intentional I'd think they could have done a much better job toning the coin.

Unfortunate how the ico is though - 49 1 oz silver + 49k tokens = approx 6,000 usd per btc.

Or 1 btc = 108k tokens = 10.8k usd

that is true AFAIK
but why only around the lettering? It is natural and starts on single side usually and spreads slowly but just around letters is kind of absurd.
How long have you had the coin for?

#23- to be honest I thought that the dates on that coin were to just be “coy”. I didn’t realize this company had been around that long and offering these coins. That makes me wonder why I’ve never seen them advertise on here and why they’ve only sold as many of those coins as they have. Especially the coin now that’s in line with their ICO.

Interesting response as I haven't seen many "new" coins that have patina. Did they mention how they were storing their older stock and if any others had aging signs?

No they didn’t but I think I’ll reply and ask. Good points. I have kept all my coins in climate controlled environments and I don’t think I’ve had one tone on me yet.
