This is good challenge for the newbies to do great post to ranked up their account, i recommend to those lower ranked is to accept this challenge and make this inspiration for posting and be greedy to win this challenge and this challenge is not only for the prize its also for the good of the future of your account.

@TMAN i would suggest to have your own judge (the one who review their post) to avoid conflict to all participants.

Yeah, I'm a bit surprised by the lack of interest in this challenge.
Maybe it is due to "there can be only one" rule?
If so than I'm willing to merit* user that will score the second place in TMAN's competition.
This is of course if you are fine with it OP.?

*not to the full upgrade but rather 90% of points needed to level up (way to acknowledge the winner).

If I believe that someone (other than TMAN's winning choice) is eligible to become a Member based on their deserving posts, I will be giving 10 points to that person. Just to clarify that this will be limited to 1 week only and if I see some more improvements, I may decide to go on and share more.
This means that this challenge will not get 1 person rewarded, but 2 for this week. One by TMAN and one by me.

I am quite fortunate that I was able to land on my current rank before things heated up in this forum due to concerns re DT abuse and the new merit system. It is true that things have become a bit more challenging around here. But I see it to be more for the benefit of the majority. I understand that members with the 3 lowest ranks would think that the new system is unfair and bias. But this only means that we will have to raise our bars higher when it comes to posting. And by doing so, we get the reward of becoming better.

Also, I would like to give a shout out to all brand new, newbies, jr. members, and even members, to embrace this change rather than whining and complaining. This is the only way we can move forward. We have here two veteran forum members who are lending a helping hand. So instead of bashing them, why not support them and participate in the challenge. I like how TMAN mentioned that he would like to "pay it forward." This is very unselfish..we should be the same. I support this challenge and the merit system as a whole. Good things will happen. Good luck to the participants!

I'd rather see sMertis spread around more than just sending to one user, I like the intent of the idea but this type of "challenge" may just set a template for all of the farmers to try and avoid detection. Now they will just start challenges or competitions that all of their alts will win and it is no longer shady for them to send all of their sMerits because it was part of a challenge. Just my thought.

I'm still thinking this whole system through fully before I start wiping out my sMerits. I'm hoping to devote 30% to Brand New/Newbies, 30% to Member/Jr, 30% to Sr. Members and 10% to Hero (I know others will likely get the Hero's). I feel like this may not be easy to accomplish though...

Iam a Merit noob, I'll have to read up on the fine detail but Im posting to say when I first joined the forum a while ago there was a similar kind of contest.   Engage in the forum, post properly and they'd enter us into a bitcoin raffle and it was done over a year that one.

As it turned out that was the year BTC first took off to four figures or so and so it was a big deal in the end.   I cant see this thread is anything negative especially, it is emphasising proper post quality and especially from new members which hopefully Bitcoin does not yet lack.   Theres so many drifters and ghosts on forums like this, maybe even the majority of traffic Im not sure but its positive if people do try to post on a thread and they are more likely to come back when involved in a conversation on whichever thread.

So far as racism, maybe employ the brain a little on this as he cannot possibly judge quality of a post in a language he has not been taught.     Someone in that section can run a thread like this surely
