Even if they don't need the merits it's still not right trading merits with friends. They are here before us and they should set an example. They are in the position already and it comes with responsibility. Now the problem is when unsignificant people trade merits they tag them red trust but why not atriz and lauda? so there's always and exemption? I was happy that this merit system was  introduced and that there are few people giving chances to the newbies by making thread for them so that they can at least prove their worth, but when I see this post it makes me sad. Now I now believe in the post I saw that rich will be rich and poor will be poor here.

There is always the possibility that Theymos may introduce a new rank requiring more Merit than 1,000.
I thought Theymos nixed that idea a while back in a thread about the new forum software.  I think it would be a damn good idea, because we're going to end up with the majority of users being legendary at some point.  I'm not a mathematician and don't know how the bell curve would turn out exactly, but that's what it seems would happen given enough time.

Because we did nothing wrong, idiot. They are hunting for alts which are sending each other merit. We are not alts nor does sending me merit matter. Therefore, it can never be farming.

I was happy that this merit system was  introduced and that there are few people giving chances to the newbies by making thread for them so that they can at least prove their worth, but when I see this post it makes me sad.
I am not giving random shitposters merit points. You can forget about that.

No, you are now a confirmed alt account and you are abusing/making fun of the merit system. DT2 will tag your account soon and theymos will kick Lauda off DT.... 🤣

Meanwhile, baboons like thaayb should really mind their own business.

Here's the thing. The merit system was created to slow down shitposting and shitposters from leveling up. Atriz is hero, Klaas too and Lauda is legendary. What would be the point of farming merits??

There is always the possibility that Theymos may introduce a new rank requiring more Merit than 1,000.

I've been wondering about that...

Perhaps accumulated Merit plus rank will be a gateway to leveling up on the DT list?

It wouldn't be hard to filter out bulk merits by counting a merit >= 1 as just one merit point

Lauda has given negative trust for some people involved with bumping thread. Most of them deserved it because they have alt accounts. The others tried to apologize and ask a second chance but she blocked them. It looks like she deserved a second chance when she tried an extortion here 1 year ago. And Lauda asks why serious people from bitcoin community are leaving this forum...

Oh my god, some unofficial rules and guidelines said it's okay to do something, that means that it must be a completely fine and legitimate thing to do! Just look at scamming other users, that isn't mentioned as being against the rules, therefore it is completely fine and good for the community to do!

Do you see how stupid your argument is? And it is completely off topic.

Giving merit isn't a scam. Giving Lauda merit isn't a scam. Lauda giving merit to someone else isn't a scam.

Its just proof that you guys clearly abused your power.

You should get a shitstorm now for the shit you created with your group.

Its posted by the global mod and there is no other info posted that selling accounts is not allowed.

How can you abuse your power calling people scammers if there is a clear guideline that its allowed.

Its your fucking group who started abusing it and you deserve like the rest of your group an instant ban

I've done nothing towards you. Before this conversation I didn't even know you existed.

You should get a shitstorm now for the shit you created with your group.
See the above.

Its posted by the global mod and there is no other info posted that selling accounts is not allowed.
Tell you what, do you agree that scamming is a bad thing? I sincerely hope that you do.
What I want you to do, is I want you to find me the rule on that thread that says that a user cannot scam another user. When you find it, feel free to quote or copy it here.

What you will find is that no such rule exists. Now, here comes the tricky part. Does that rule not existing mean that scamming another user is something that you should do? Does it mean that, because that rule isn't on that list, people should ignore the people scamming others?

How can you abuse your power calling people scammers if there is a clear guideline that its allowed.
I don't have any power, nor do I particularly want any. If you want an answer to that question, try the above answer. You should also keep in mind that even though account sales aren't not allowed, they are discouraged, meaning that the forum would rather that you didn't do them.

I fully expect you to ignore everything I just said, and brush it off as just me 'protecting my group'. If you actually try to refute my points though, you'll get some extra brownie points.

I get that, however this is present day with no such thing on the horizon (at least not yet).

As you said, it's a possibility. There is no point in doing anything "fishy" if there is no reason for it.

That's what I'm trying to understand. Okay, so there's an "inner circle" that's conspiring to give each other merit... But they don't actually need any merit for anything at all so it doesn't really mean anything. So... They just generated random fake numbers that mean nothing on a forum.

SCAM! Lol.

Hi Thule,
I keep reading bad stuff about Lauda and company. I suppose they are really hated for their abuse of the trust system. I noticed almost all members here doesnt like them but I dont know why they are still here. It makes me angry and feel this forum is very biased and power tripper. Everyone just kiss their ass so they won't get neg trust but does not sincerely like them. If polls will be created on which member should be kicked out I'm pretty sure its them. I admire your courage for stepping up and be the voice of the quiet majority here. Please be the instrument to change this forum to be better and destroy the evils like Lauda and company.

System trust will still be the benchmark, I think the system trust is much higher because not everyone can get it. System trust remains a thing to see that the account does have a good reputation. The existing merit system I think will help eliminate some spammers because only people who have good post quality can get it, it is still in development stage and hopefully merit system can be in accordance with fact because most of the time some of the conditions are often misused.

I doubt the merit system will work at all with no control.Merit is basicly a reputation system if i understand it correctly.
It has been used so many times on diffrent boards and it always was abused after certain amount of time.

First the circles exchanging themself merit.Since the staff has no time for scammers i doubt staff will have time to check logs who is participating in such circles.
Second mostly higher ranked users got more merit power than average users which will grow exponencially.
Means after certain time a simple merit like from a high ranked member could be worth like 20-50 normal members.
Thats not decentralisation of power which was the main idea of this board.

Its clearly the attempt to take full controll by a small group which destroyes everyone who won't consent their BS.

Using this kind of system will just attract more spammers to build trusted accounts and start services. It has been proven on each other messageboard even on heavy moderated ones.
