It seems that the list of places where you can pay off without any problems with bitcoins has replenished with the airport. The intention to introduce the possibility of crypto-payment of goods and services in shops, cafes and restaurants of two terminals was announced by the airport management of Australian Brisbane.

By payment according to the airport managers will be accepted bitcoins, ethereum, Dash and a number of other digital coins. Thus, it is planned to increase the airport’s image as an innovative leader, support local business and improve client experience.

“Today many people invest in crypto-currencies. And a large part of these crypto-investors travel to different countries. So, why not offer them in our terminals the opportunity to use crypto currency as a means of payment, “said the head of strategic planning and development of Brisbane Airport Roel Hellmons.

It only makes sense to offer this functionality at the airports, where currency conversion is the most prevalent. You have many existing Currency exchanges in airports, so they can just add Bitcoin/Crypto currency options to these existing services.

Bitcoiners should approach these services in their area and ask for this. As soon as they see that there are a demand for these services, then they will consider implementing it. Bitcoin ATM distributors should also target them.  Wink

I agree where, but at what rates are we going to exchange the bitcoin for fiat in airports? What if a ticket is 20$ and you have to pay another 20$ in fees? They should've waited for the lightning network. :|

I think if that was the case then the airport will scan the QR code of your bitcoin wallet. In that way it is made easier for the person to pay without bringing too much cash in the pocket. Though there is a problem in the volatility of bitcoin, but it can be solved by the management of the airport and how they could improve bitcoin payments in the future.

Don't you know that the fee is now decreased pretty much and I made a transaction of $350 worth of bitcoin and the fee is just $1.96 on my blockchain wallet.I think it is more prettier than the hidden fees on credit cards.
But I am sure that most of the people not going to use this service because bitcoin is still considered as assets so no one want to spend their assets they are waiting for the price increase with bitcoin including me.I never going to spend my bitcoin until it hit $100K(little greedy). Grin
