I am very happy if there is a country in which there is a culinary company or a restaurant that receives payments with bitcoin, although in the country prohibits bitcoin.
like in bali, there is a restaurant that receives payment with bitcoin, but a few days ago I watched a show on television that the security forces closed the restaurant.
why are the security so evil? they only use it for food payments, not for criminals. or do they equate bitcoin payments as a crime? it's very unreasonable.
what do you think about it ?

Are you sure that they closed it because of the Bitcoin payments? That is pretty stupid, Bitcoin is nothing bad and it is legit. I mean, if they do not like Bitcoin, they could have just warn them or fine them, not close the whole restaurant, that is really ridicolous! I do not even know why would they be so much bothered about that, it isn't a crime or somethiing.

it is very detrimental in business and hamper progress, the state should only supervise for less good things in the use of bitcoin that is done in money laundering or terrorist financing, not in the same level in the form of business and business, this is very disturbing technological progress, should the country should think about the advantages of bitcoin rather than its shortcomings.

Although that is quite sad to hear, the truth is that bitcoin is considered illegal in Indonesia so they were just applying the law.
As far as I know direct transactions between people were not encourage, but they were allowed (although that might have changed by now), and the use of bitcoin for payment (either for e-commerce, or as an electronic payment gateway) was forbidden. So the restaurant was in fact disobeying the law.

I don't agree with this action, or the law in the country, and every time I see these things I remember Thoreau and it's Civil Disobedience. I guess that will need to happen in some countries, so that these unfair laws change.

I don't know what are countries, that are banning bitcoin, trying to accomplish with all those bans, it's absurd to ban something like that. I can see it like if the business is using bitcoin to tactically lessen the taxes or whatever, but with the right regulations eve that can be solved...  Countries slowing down their own progress.

Need some spare btc for a new PC that can at least run Adobe Dreamweaver.

If the laws of that country say bitcoin is illegal as a payment then there is nothing left for the law enforcement but to enforce the law Wink.
Security forces or what you call them are not evil, they are just doing their jobs.
The one alt fault for this is you people, who have voted morons in the parliament and you ended up with those stupid laws.

I think bitcoin is a bad payment method in general because of the fees.

Have you watched the news?

There are restaurants that accept payments with bitcoin, not just restaurants but there are also hotels, yoga classes, jewelry stores
and are now prohibited from trading using bitcoin, after a government decision is made
It is unfortunate

Seeing that Bali is a tourist city, it is a common thing for any place that service the foreigner to adjust payment method as the customer wants . But unfortunately, the government start worrying of virtual transaction which is bitcoin. They made a policy to forbid the bitcoin as the currency. What I mean is , that occation happened caused by the new rules of the finance ministry

Thats too determinant! How does anyone close a food chain? That might be for some different reason I guess because I don't see any point in the closing of the food restaurant. This is has to do something with the government authorities of that region. Because on the other hand there are medicinal stores, shopping malls and different coffee shops are accepting the bitcoin widely and the list of only shops is unlimited! Where the hell this government is asking their skills and why would they even take the action based on the bitcoin payment processor. Also I Have one question what did the government authorities did to those people who ate for until now and who paid the restaurant in terms of bitcoin. Did not they realise that how people are also interested in the bitcoin? No resort fro the democracy I believe, lolz,!

Yeah its cruel but the store owner shouldn't really make those things on accepting bitcoin as a payment since he do already know that the country do prohibits bitcoin which means all of things related to it would really be restricted and we know once government do see such violation or people who do oppose them then expect there would really be actions to be done which isn't really surprising.

I think this is a bad action from the government, they may be able to resist bitcoin as the official currency but closing a business belonging to someone is inhumane. To me it's like to think of bitcoin as a crime.
Maybe for them (government) the disadvantage of bitcoin is when they see bitcoin growing and mastering the economy of a country but they can not take taxes from it. I think that is the real reason why they really ban bitcoin, just out of envy.

I read a thread on this forum a few weeks ago, that is about Indonesia banning bitcoin as a means of payment. Perhaps this is the effect of government policies that prohibit bitcoin from being used for means of payment. But the Indonesian government just prohibits bitcoin as a means of payment, but not for trading and investment with notes all risks be certified by its themselves.

You are right, I have been several times to restaurants called cascades in ubud
very good service, and payment can use bitcoin, it makes things so much easier
But it is unfortunate, if the Indonesian government forbade it
Maybe they have their own reasons

It's normal as it against Rupiah.
It's like they banned use USD for payment in almost countries and request people use local fiat to protect their economy.
I have no complain about this and also not much bad things here for this action

If the restaurant was seized because it accepted bitcoin as a means of payment, then it had to be said that the government was really stupid. They should not use that extreme method, they can fine, but they should not seal up. It is impossible to completely ban Bitcoin, as long as there is the Internet, Bitcoin exists.
