I think part of the problem is that the default port conflicts with Bytecoin.  Anyway, if I can get this to build on my FreeBSD system, I'll put up a public node running.

Found 17 blocks in the last 8 hours, so it seems to be working.
Problem is the difficulty is so high and not enough hash power.  

It will probably take a week before the difficulty readjusts.

indeed... my local client is showing height of 19370 currently, is it possible we wound up on an abandoned fork of the chain?

for what it's worth, I'm running my own instance of eloipool and I am not getting those errors

edit - seems I did mine a block, building on the chain at height 19370... anyone else mining or have a client with a handful of connections? perhaps we should compare block heights and make sure we are all on the same chain at least so aren't trying to fork each other

I expected this.  I was only able to download up to block 19329 yesterday.  Look like some one with a more complete chain recently connected to my node.  The chain is good up to block 19368:
