I was browsing on Alibaba tonight when I saw some ridiculous price like 180-210 USD$ for some GTX 1080 Ti cards, what gets me worried is that some of them have the Gold Supplier status wtf? Any of you guys had good experience on buying some GPUs on Alibaba?

It could be a good way to get our hands on some GPUs but ofc don't buy those with a ridiculous price since they are scams 100%...

Thanks.

Alibaba is notorious for being a platform for mining hardware scams. I wouldn't even consider the cards listed on Alibaba at "current" prices. (The <<MSRP listings are definite scams, but also consider why a scammer wouldn't price a card normally and make more money, without drawing so much attention with an obviously "too good to be true" price.)

I was asking around on IRC about some reviews with Alibaba and GPUs and it seems it isn't a good idea to buy over there... So hard to find those GTX 1080 Ti ! If any users here would be nice enough to share some tips on how to find them without paying 2x or 3x times the price, would be really nice to know Wink

Thanks.

No one is selling real brands on Alibaba. Just forget it. It won't even be a refurbished card. It will be some generic Chinese garbage, in a generic Chinese box, shipped in bubble wrap. Alibaba and China is filled with fake knockoff junk. They do not care about trademarks or IP whatsoever.

Maybe they have the chip, but different components and no the Nvidia Logo. maybe they lack some factory quality tests.
Whatever, if you take a look at your 1080TI it says "Made in China"

Just like diamonds, market makes them expensive and look rare.

Don't buy from alibaba. There is place of scams.
You will get garbage instead of GPU.

ater they will tell you to deal price and direct transfer to the seller, not escrow payment.

the items you ordered, most cases are different from what they show. many duplicates of the original goods. but not all sellers in Alibaba like that.

better don't buy in Alibaba.

Sign up for notifications with each retailer and hope you see it before they sell out.

I guess PNY brand is not as popular. In states at least. I had a couple of reference blowers and they delivered same hashrate as a regular founders edition blower.
