how the price and market cap is decided when the coin fist hit exchange, i see some coins raising 20 mil ICO but if you check their coin price and no of coins distributed in ico and multiply them their market cap comes up almost 100 mil, how does that work can someone explain please

Few of factors:

- what was the interest during the ICO? If it was big and project hits hard cap before dead line, you could expect a lot of people trying to buy it on exchanges.

- is there a working prototype and does the team following their roadmap?

There are many more, but they are project depending.
