many thread asking same question. I hope in the future you can calculate how much needs powering. Let's play : first, something missing here, you didn't inform us your CPU spec like (Processor, RAM, HDD/SSD) because every part different power consumptions depend on the type, like processor Celeron VS i7. But 1070 has TDP 150 W and you ask : 750W power supply used for How many 1070 GPU works
for 3 GPUS 3x150 = 450W, remaining 300 W enough for other parts powering (Proc, RAM, Riser Power, HDD/SSD).

if the block is new and good brand, like corsair, and it will supply the gpu's only, then I'm sure you can put at least 4 cards at PL90 if you set your PL to 80-75% which is highly recommended, then you can put 5 cards. but that would be tricky already..

You may not want to exceed 80% of the PSU's 750W rating, leaving 600W. Depending on how you configure power draw, anywhere from 3-5 1070 GPUs.

Lets put it this way. Im using 725w at the wall running 5x 1070ti at 70%power limit and the mobo,cpu,ssd,four external fans.
So im guessing that depending on your settings and setup try 3x 1070 first and see what the power draw is using a power monitor.

The TDP of most 1070 is 150W (just a bit difference among manufacturers), so basically you could run 3 x 1070 at full load with your 750W PSU. For me, I usually set power limit is around 80-85% which should be good, I dont want to push PSU too much. Or like above comment 4 x 1070 but with 70% power limit.

For 1070's and up you need an 850w PSU if you're running a dual PSU setup and 8 cards.
750w powers three 1070's 850w powers four 1070's

Maybe only 2 GPU 1070, but its not recommended If you want, you can add more psu power with add2psu relay, it's works fine

i can't find anything more than 850 on amazon right now. everything else has bad reviews, is not rated, or is out of stock.
Do you think I can pull off 3 1070s and 1 1080 on a gold rated 850W PSU?
1070 150W x 3=450W 1080 200W
Total=650W
Should put me around 85% after processor and ram.

you can do it with 850W if forced but its position is not safe for all performance, could be Rig restarted itself or crash due to lack of power. and you have to take into account the power consumption for supply to 4x Riser. for example for SATA Connector you need around 55W, mean if 4x55 W = 220W. you can under-volt all GPUs but it still doesn't safe conditions.

What brand/type of PSU? With Platinum/Gold 80+ you should be ok with 4 x 1070 @ 60% power.

The run on PSU has been worse than the run on GPU. Right now, you have to pay 300+ for any decent PSU and its not even in stock yet.
