Don't think there will be the phenomenon  of so many coins going so high in such a short period of time ever again but there are still going to be good profits to be made, especially compared to many other modes of investing, and there is always the hope of buying into an altcoin and hitting the jackpot.

Yes it still can happened but this time the situation has changed, there are tons of alt coin that appeared and split the investors investment, the government now paying attention to crypto and want to regulated crypto, that makes crypto difficult to run wild again, but once it's regulated and big companies want to accept the crypto for payment then the price will soar high again, so we need to wait and see what will happened next

I don't think all coins will surge up like they did last year but what you will see, like with Bitconnect is the scams disappear or tank which will give other coins (or existing ones) more room to grow.

There is very less chance that the opportunity which we got in 2017 will come again. 2017 was a very good year for crypto trader and according to me this may never gonna happen in future. If you had got some valuable coins in the beginning of 2017 then you should be millionaire now. But may if we get chance to see huge rises in the 2018 too.

Nobody really knows if we will see the same type of gains like last year, but I am hopeful. Also look at all the publicity crypto is getting, new people and new money coming in, forcing exchanges to close to new business, more quality projects than ever, more adoption and mass understanding. Yes you are correct. We cant expect the 21 trillion market cap will happen this year. maybe a x2 or x3 is more achievable for 2018. However, sooner or later we will reach that 21 trillion market cap. we just dont know when.

Nope that’s a wrong assessment in concluding that 2017 gains is a once a lifetime and won’t happen again.. This year might go even higher than that but it just the first month of a 12th month/year and that the first quarter even not yet finished.. A major news or event can change everything in a blink of an eye,, so don’t ever close door for possibility and most important is don’t sell just hold..

I agree with this positive thinking.
All the movement of cryptocurrency is unpredictable so why not the price of 2017 will be repeated now in 2018.
2018 is long time since now is the beginning. Same with 2017, who predict that the cryptocurrency price and marketcap increase rapidly just at the end of the year.

even my friend invested BTC when the price is $10k,
with a small investment it really changed his life to become a millionaire too.
That's very unfortunate that i don't invest in BTC too back then.
But i'm still believe that i can do that too this year if i work hard.

Cryptocurrency ecosystem in 2018 is totally different than previous years.
One can compare 2017 vs. 2016; but cannot compare 2018 to 2017/2016/2015...
Why?
1) Big investors arrived.
2) Future buy/sell options come in effect.
3) Governments are digging into cryptoworld & talk about regulation.
4) Big price drops broke the trust among new investors.

Let me tell again, January drop cannot be compared to any other. People say every year price drops in January. Take a look to graphs. The price drop were never this long and sharp. There is definitely something going on, but so far I couldn't figure out.

I think it'll but we need to wait until the Q1 2018 over cause I just checked the price chart of Bitcoin and at Q1 of every year, Bitcoin always dump very low then it often slowly increases back and Q4 is the best time for Bitcoin and all other cryptocurrency. The problem is we need to be patient and keep holding tide everything we have at the moment
