Well been away last couple days for tearing down about half the farm. It's definitely sad to see them go but decided to thin down the farm.

Why did I do it? Well I figure these 10 rigs have been running for a year and with the crazy prices people are paying.... and they paid... I figured I'll just use the sales and reinvest in BtC until stock becomes available.

It leaves with with only the 10 newly built 1080 Ti rigs I built last month and a couple 1070 and 70Ti rigs, which isn't terrible.

So will I regret the decision - guess we'll find out won't we. I already have sellers remorse, seeing the hashrates 1/2'd is gut wrenching lol.

Just thought I'd share. Thanks fam.

Probably a good move. I'm on the fence about buying 100 new 1080Ti. Stuck in between waiting for new Nvidia cards or overpaying for the current model. If the new cards have a life span like the 1080Ti it would be worth the wait.

Cards are at an ATH, so you can never be wrong for taking some off the table. If you are expecting to get a deal with the next gen cards, I have a feeling that won't be the case. Especially with the new Nvidia cards due to increased manufacturing costs from the smaller 12nm process for Volta.

Its a great move given the current market.  Pretty much equates to selling at the top and now being able to buy back in at the dip when it comes to mining equipment.  I sold off all my 1070s for crazy profit over the last 2 weeks while still being able to snag 1070tis and 1080ti at MSRP as they became available.  It ended up being an upgrade to all my cards without spending a dime.  Crazy times.

Same.  With my luck, the first person I sell to will issue a return and send back a box of rocks.

Yep. Same here. The first few shortages, I got all excited and sold my cards for more than I purchased them for. Then re-bought when prices returned to normal. It’s such a hassle and you lose the mining time. Mine till they die!

Yup , lost a paypal account dealing with a few returns, just not worth it and I still eventually had to replace my cards anyways and lost mining time like you said.  Plus if a card has run well enough to be sold as new for a year it would most like likely keep running for 5 years.

you cant sell the lemon cards cuz they will be returned so why sell the good ones.

mine till they die I agree ☝️

i bought my pc for 850 and it has a 1070

thinking about selling the 1070 for $600 then getting 2 1080tis for $900 or $1800 for both then -$600 2 tis for $1200

do the 1080tis have 2 8 pin connectors on them or are they just like my 1070?

I think im going to get the blower  style, they stay cool.

when I put the dual fan rx 580 I was surprised on how hot it got around the card, it was causing my 1070 to go to 80c

blower fans are good in cases since they vent heat out, rx 580s run much hotter than 1070s

you have to lower core to like 1100 and undervolt memory and core to say 900 before they

become efficient and bearably cool.

Stock 580s will pull as high as 180 watts or more

Most are 8+6 some are 8+8 so just go on the site for the card you're thinking about getting and check the specs out - it'll tell ya.

for now situation, miners have some conditions:
1. Some miners sell their Cards, with calculating theirs have profited from when priced buy.

2. Some miners sell their cards and buying other cards more cheap and more quantity.

3. Some miners sell cards and wait and see until price of GPUs is normal.

4. And Some miners staying their cards and still mining with calculating income/day than sell their Cards. Because their thinking: If GPU prices return to normal, can they get their GPU easily? just as easy as they sell it.
