what will be the next december/end of year prices (in $) for one btc ?

my guess is:

december 2013: 150 $ (1000% rise)
december 2014: 375 $ (150% rise)
december 2015: 3000 $ (800% rise)
december 2016: 4500 $ (150% rise)

my assumptions are based on the past % increases shown in the signature.

so, anyone who manages to get/hold 222 btc until december 2016 will be a millionaire  Kiss

i will dig this thread in 2016 and we will see then who was right...

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

You probably should have just made a poll and set it to expire in 999 days.

Max Keiser predicts the price at $100k to $1mil per BTC. This is based on the premise that BTC grows to 1% of global Forex size.

The market history would indicate that November/December is not a good time to sell coins. For the past two years, the exchange rate went down through October/November and didn't rise until January/February. Presumably because of cryptocoin geeks selling coins to tell their friends and family, "I bought your present with bitcoin!" It'll be interesting to see if that trend repeats this year or not.

I think the dollar is doing to plumet in value in October due to the upcoming fight over the debt limit.

Which would be a good thing for BTC because its going to go up in value.

I'm hoping that BTC hits $200 to $250 in October 2013.

As far as December goes, not sure, it will likely recede against the dollar once the debt limit battle is over, I'm thinking in the $150 to $200 range.

But, this is all just pure speculation at this point, and maybe a little wishful thinking. Smiley

Bitcoin's been surging at a +0.7% PER DAY average (1275% annual).

Why are all the predictions on this thread so drastically lower than this?

It was the same in January. Many on this board were dubious that the price would even exceed the old all-time high of $31.91 before the end of the year.

A high of $250 before the end of December sounds reasonable to me, but since this is bitcoin after all, I bet we'll hit $1000 before the end of the year.

I wouldn't be surprised if the rate does decrease from 1275% a bit. But not down to 150%. I'm predicting $270 for NYE. Which is 2000% for the year. (2012 was atypically low; I think 2013 will be atypically high.)

It's especially challenging to make longterm XBT/fiat predictions (as opposed to /XAU or /XAG) because of inflation.

If Bitcoin were to continue at 1275%, around 2016 the effect on the market could begin a tailspin in the real value of USD and other fiat paper; so, one could say that the exchange rate might well reach a billion dollars per BTC, though the buying power may be in the low millions in 2013 dollars. I think Bitcoin itself could cause fiat hyperinflation, if its market reaches a tipping point as a major percentage of world economic activity.

Where there is world conflict BTC rises for some reason, whether financial or security based issues .The only thing I'd be concerned about is Mtgox still has significant ability to influence the value of BTC somewhat and this means we still have some ways to go before having relevant exchanges instead of just one controlling the value.

LOL, is it just me or does that picture remind you of.... Oh, I see it's Austin Powers, never mind!

Nevertheless, outrageous as Foxpup's numbers seem on first glance, I wouldn't be my life against them.
