Testing of the Curecoin code is going well. Its time to build a network that can support and protect Curecoin.

Initial fundraiser goal 10 - 20 BTC

Items needed:

Priority Items:

Multiple high power vps ( need enough to cover atleast 6 months of usage)

Expansion of current hosting services for websites

DDOS protection ( need enough to cover atleast 6 months of usage)

Medium priority items

Advertising campaigns (facebook, google)

BTC for supporters that have put many hours of work into curecoin ( Yeltz did a nice job with the logo, Cryptobullion has been coding for the folding pool, and the dev who has built the coin base is going to kick me when i ask for one more change to get added )

Low priority
AND last but not least - SETI pool start up funds are needed.

Since the dev budget of curecoin allows for payment of these services, hopefully the coin will sustain itself when it is released.

And as bonus to all donators, a portion of the first months dev fund of curecoins will be set aside as rewards to any who donated.

If you want to donate to any specific part of the cause plz post your amount donated and what part of the project you want to contribute to.

Donation addresses

BTC 1JESUEbmih1gET4Y5RNQV4Z2mf2RqwwYBx
LTC LZEm1MTpT7F5EhVLNHnxqbbhJCJ8DpvD29

Many thanks to everyone who helped us get his far, and many thanks to those who help us launch the official Curecoin  Wink

Edit: added a break down of fund usage in 2nd post

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

EDIT btc price has gone up buy 300% since i wrote this, these figures are outdated

vps servers @ ~100$ month = 1 BTC per month cost * 6 months = 6 BTC

LVL 7 DDos protection @ ~$1000  month = 10 BTC per month cost * 6 months = 60 btc

Facebook and Google advertising target budget for first few months of curecoin launch will be 300$ - 600$ a month = 3 - 6 BTC per month * 6 months = 18 - 36 BTC

Total estimated to be spent on these item 66 btc on servers and protection, and 18 - 36 btc on advertising, for a grand total of 84 - 102 BTC

If you want to donate to a specific member of the team plz consider the work done by yeltz, vorksholk, and cryptobullion, i think they each deserve a tip for the hard work.

List of some previous donors so far when we first started testing the alpha pool

Yeltz - donated ~50k Global coins to the alpha pool + 20 LTC to curecoin fund

Techbytes - donated 2000 Digital coins to the folding bounties

SistaFista and muddafudda donated 100k Global coins to the alpha pool

Cryptobullion - donated 50k Global coins to the alpha pool

VorkSholk - Donated 2 BTC to curecoin fund

If i forgot to put your name on the list just make a post.

Edit - obviously 1 btc is more than 100$ these days, i hope it stays that way, and goes higher  Grin but for simplicity i rounded to 1 btc for 100$ If we can meet these goals with less btc due to increased btc value that would be good...

LTC LZEm1MTpT7F5EhVLNHnxqbbhJCJ8DpvD29

Just sent a handful of LTC in this direction. And *still* have a box or two folding for the team.

Let's keep the momentum going!

35   Confirmed!   Curecoin   2013-08-30 05:07:53 PM   147,417
34   Confirmed!   Curecoin   2013-08-29 05:07:49 PM   143,570
33   Confirmed!   Curecoin   2013-08-28 05:07:15 PM   160,348

the program is executing perfectly each day ... the time increases by a few seconds each day because more people sign up that it processes. With the lvl of protection CygnusXI has mapped out for the "backbone" of the folding payout system, curecoin will be a force to be reckoned with ...

Also ... there might be a last minute change to the coin base... something that is going to make a lot of miners really freaking happy (merge mining with btc...... cough......)

I see nothing but progress in the future for curecoin

if I remember correctly, the release will not be punctually announced here on bitcointalk? might make people reluctant to place money in the pot.

however, that thread was ages old, maybe the policy has changed.

i hope this is decentralized enough... however if only it brings thousands of money-hungry graphics card hoarders to use them for something actually useful for a while, that's already awesome enough !

The curecoin team learned from watching other fail coins... we will be launching here. Cygnus was a little pissed when people accused him of using hashing to create bio weapons... but then we all sat down a looked at how badly other coins got flamed and realized curecoin wasnt flamed half as bad as the rest... keep in mined cygnus first announced curecoin back in may, when alt coins were scarce... so no one believed he could pull it off... now the team has more support and more devs helping and devs offering help... we have all the support we need to make curecoin a bad ass coin. the centralization is being kept to a minimum too.....

I wanted to contribute, but is this project still ongoing? Most threads appear to be dead. Also the beta pool is not working, at least my stats are 0 since two days, even if I'm in the stats of folding team 224497.

Yeah, the project is in a quiet before the storm stage, polishing edges, squashing bugs, etc. Might want to pm cygnusxi about that 0 stats, did you sign up with the same username?

oh, the alpha pool has small problem with the GLC payment right now, due to the wild swings in GLC profitability there is no one mining glc right now.... If anyone GLC users could point a miner at GLC that would be nice.... payments are building up in the wallet to go out just not confirmed yet... once the diff drops there will be a big rush again of miners to GLC anyways... something i doubt will be a problem for the official curecoin, but a small issue for the alpha test.

In which thread will the release date of Curecoin be announced?

I wanted to donate BTC to the project leader. Who is it?  cygnusxi or CryptoBullion?
