All those people entering crypto in late 2017 were driven by fomo also made by mass media. Now this is the majority that lost a lot of money after the recent correction. It's obvious they all will be very negative about crypto and righ now media are talking that Bictcoin is a scam and you should avoid it at any cost.

What do you mean by "advertisement" here? No one is advertising crypto, and still less the channels you mentioned. Well, in fact, developers of a number of coins do advertise their coins, through airdrops or elsewise, but that's not what you seem to mean here. Anyway, if you refer to publicity, then any publicity is good, as the saying goes. Obviously, good publicity is better than bad publicity, but here lies the main problem. It is often difficult to say or distinguish between what is good publicity and what is bad one.

To sum it up, it is almost impossible to say in advance what net effect some news will have, especially long term. It can even be the case when some form of press or news coverage may cause visible, undeniable damage to the image of crypto (like its use in the DarkNet) in the short term but over the long run it may actually turn beneficial as people are prone to forget bad things about something but their awareness of it will nevertheless persist.

The one main source of negativity is the media. The media always tells to the public the drawbacks of bitcoin and never mentions its advantages. In my experience, I'd say that from ages 20 to 50, 90 percent of those do not trust bitcoin and only thinks of it as a scam. To that end, we must be the ones stopping this bad actions so that the reputation of bitcoin will improve.

Most publicity about cryptocurrency on media are not truthful that's why many people never care to know what blockchain and cryptosystem is all about before coming in with the mind set of making huge money based on what they have read. Publicity is never a bad thing, as it creates attention. The problem is finding accurate information about it. I think instead of relying on news, people should go directly to the website of certain crypto, read the whitepaper, do their necessary checks and discover for themselves what it's all about. BTC in particular started to have negative impact when CNN was shilling it.

Most people coming in didn't get what Blockchain technology was about, they saw it as a new get rich quick investment.
The new money they brough into market was cashed out on a small retracement, that's what brought us to where we are today.


Bad advertisement.

The influence of media to their subscribers make bitcoin more ugly. In fact, some of the news are exaggeration only. They just indicated people who are "expert" in analyzing the data or chart so that the news may become true. They are bias when it comes in giving information. So, I do not follow them anymore. It will just take us in wrong way.

When someone only has small news and then invests in bitcoin with huge funds and they get a lot of losses, for me that is what makes a lot of bad news about crypto. Hello man, crypto requires a lot of analysis and not only has news as a way to get rich quick.
