Adding a countdown timer to your Auction

After spending quite a bit of time searching both the Bitcointalk.org forum and Google, and not finding simple instructions for how to do this, I thought I'd add type this up.  I eventually figured it out by right clicking on a post that had a countdown timer and looking through the source code.  Hope this saves you some time.  

This will add a countdown timer to your post, like the one below.  This particular one is counting down to New Years Day 2014 (UTC).



It's pretty simple once you know how!

• Click on the Insert Image button.  It's above the Wink emoticon.
• This will add the start and end img tags in [square brackets].  You can type them in yourself if you like.
• Insert this URL between the tags: https://www.onnit.com/emails/_modules/timer/?end=2014-01-01+00:00:00UTC&dark=1
• Edit the date and time (directly after /?end=) to set when you would like the countdown timer to reach zero.

I can't edit my above post for some reason, but do you know how to change the background color from green to black properly?

https://www.onnit.com/emails/_modules/timer/?end=2014-01-01+00:00:00&dark=0 produces a black and white timer (at least for me). Even when you change dark=0 to dark=1, it stays black, unless I'm doing something wrong.

It's not the value of dark that changes the background color, it's the ampersand (&) preceding it.

You can change it to your local time by editing the UTC to EST, CST, et. cetera
