This person, on bitmit, is selling the USB ASICs for 0.2 BTC.

I have heard that the mining power of USB ASICs are not good and I should not buy, but this price is low.

Is it a good deal?

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

Well, if you go to the group buy section here on this forum, you can get the same item for .18 BTC

The Group Buys are advertising prices better than 0.2

And those prices were posted before friedcat made today's announcement.

Looks like a 3.5 month timeframe for ROI... I might get some for my sons, and as Christmas gifts.

Given the cost/return on them nowadays it's more of a hobby thing than a real mining effort. So I think that a few dollars either way isn't going to matter so much.

At that price, with current difficulty rising, you  *might* break even by Jan... I'm still waiting for $1 each, but they will prob only make $.75 by then.

I do not suffer fools gladly... "Captain!  We're surrounded!"
I embrace my inner Kool-Aid.
