According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

That was nice and "unique" way of contract signing deal lol. Honestly no surprises here.

Since this thread was posted on Speculation section, then let's make a speculation question here after that move.

- Will others follow? On the side note, this month, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban noted on Twitter that next season fans would be able to purchase tickets with Bitcoin (I think for American Airlines Center only). It will be on 2018-2019 Season. If that will happened, there is a chance that other NBA homecourt will follow this,

- Will sports organizations will allow this kind of deal for long term? (as per article, the Turkish government suggested to citizens that use of cryptocurrency was “not suitable” for Muslims as the government could not exert sufficient control over its use.)

Im sure many others will follow. A lot of these football superstars are often advised by their accountants to move their wealth to tax havens to not pay massive taxes. As we have seen with the Football Leaks and Panama Papers etc, many got caught. Im sure the next step will be to move these massive amounts of money in Bitcoin.

Im just saying that this will happen, not that I agree with it. I think the super rich should pay taxes, because if they don't, we the wage slaves are the ones paying most of it which is a scam.

Interesting. I will love to see this as tendency instead of single case.

This could give Bitcoin and other coins legitimacy and spread over a big mass of people - football fans.

Nice to hear this as this may influence the price of bitcoin that is getting bearish at alarming rate and we should expect the price to get to it feat some months to come. A lot of speculations that affect bitcoin price now and we would need serious investment and people to refuse to sell for bitcoin to get back on the bullish momentum.

So the title says....
Quote
european soccer star to be paid salary partially with bitcoin

The article says:
Quote
As chairman of the amateur club Haldun Şehit told CNN Turk, the move was completed to hire 22-year-old Omar Faruk for 2000 lira ($528) in BTC and 2500 lira ($661) in cash.

Common... is that is a star, then Messi is the universe ?

Second, source for this?

LOL, they're paying a random amateur $600 in BTC and this is news, why exactly ? Hoping he can dump his BTC quickly, would be sad to see him lose his income when BTC goes to $1000
