A safe choice would be ETH. Everything else took huge drops but eth held steady and only had minor drops. As of right now, it's still above $1k and rising. If you want something cheaper, get neo. He only coin that worth my investment and hodl is Oyster Protocol PRL, because although it dipped hard since second week last month January, in behalf of the holders and investors of this coin, we are positive and believe that it will explode in the near future, if not today, not tomorrow, not next month but definitely not forever. This year most of the altcoins decreasing the price because the bitcoin decreased too so they are affected to each other. You can choose altcoin who the price decreased because they have big chances the price will increase or recover again.

I will recommend bitcoin. There's a rumor that bitcoin's price will increase drastically on 2019.
