About two weeks ago, I tried withdrawing coins and was given a bogus transaction ID. That is to say the tx ID never showed up in the blockchain and I never received my coins to my wallet.

So I opened a support ticket. At the time their system said it was a 12 day wait. 12 days? They just said they hired new people. And why are they allowing new registrations if they can't keep up with support? Well, fine, I'll wait 12 days.

Well it's now been 16 days and no response from support. And now their system says it's a 20 day wait. So when 20 days is up, will the system say 30 days? And when that is up will it change to 60 days? Will I EVER get a response from support?

Not likely.

So I am sure people wonder "Did you double check your wallet address?"
Yes, I even received an email confirmation with the wallet address in it, no typos and no problems.

I am banned from the trollbox for speaking out about this. I was told by a moderator that I need to use their support system. The 20 day wait support system, you mean??

They are trying to silence me. I am now taking to social media. Please people, do NOT use this exchange, you will have your coins stolen by them!

And apparently I am not the only one.  Today I see an article saying people cannot withdraw funds:

https://www.stuff.co.nz/business/101084089/cryptopia-traders-report-problems-withdrawing-funds

Plus, Cryptopia is having trouble with the banks:

http://coindispatch.com/2018/02/01/cryptopia-exchange-halts-withdrawals-as-new-zealand-bank-closes-account/

I would not be surprised if the government starts to crack down on the exchange soon due to people not being able to get their money back.

Cryptopia is turning out to be a FRAUD.

If you are thinking about using Cryptopia, DON'T. You are running the risk of losing your coins forever.

Beware.

That is unfortunate. I never had problems with them but after reading those articles I am skeptical now. What coin were you withdrawing, may I ask?

You're running a huge risk trading on a platform that does not do business directly with a regulated bank. It may be fun and all, and perhaps profitable if you're a decent trader, but without regulatory oversight these types of exchanges answer to no one and therefore can do whatever the hell they please with your money.

I've never had any issues trading on unregulated exchanges, though I've read other people have. It wasn't a ton of money I lost, but it was a few hundred and that isn't nothing. Needless to say, I've lost all faith in Cryptopia and will be recommending against using it to all my friends and family. I cannot believe that they actually can't respond to support, I think they are just hoping I'll go away.

I have not used Cryptopia long since Cryptopia has been cheating on customers. If Cryptopia actually deceives its customers, its commercial site is likely to be closed in the near future as no investor will be allowed to invest in Cryptopia.

My thoughts exactly. After doing some research, I see I am not alone with having transaction problems. People are losing coins all over the place with this exchange.  You'd think that they would shut down operations and sort everything out before allowing anymore deposits and user registrations, but they're obviously too greedy for that.

I send verge to cryptopia.
The where confirmed in Block chain but did show in balance.
So I write an ticket at support system showing a copy of the transaction confirmation.
It was not much around 100 $.
After 3 days no reply there were just on my balance.
No idea if problem of cryptopia or elsewere

This thread may be of interest to you

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2639054.0

It seems transaction problems have been going on for a while with them, the OP saying it took 30 days for a deposit to show up. WTF??? haha Yeah forget that exchange, man. You'll have to take the loss and move on to something better. U.S. exchanges seem to be getting their act together. Poloniex, I didn't like in the past because their servers couldn't handle the users and I lost money, but they upgraded since then (that was like a year or so ago) and it's been smooth sailing ever since. Plus, they are getting ready to embrace U.S. regulatory measures so it's safer than an exchange like Cryptopia, but they are also still only trading coin to coin and operate out of Delaware where there are laxed regulations, so we'll see where they go from here.

Losing coins sucks though, hope things get better for you this year!

I've experience this kind of error too, when i tried cryptopia exchange I didnt get the exact coins i will received, it was like 50% only good thing I got the Tx hash and immediately reported it to the admin of cryptopia and good thing I received the exact token that i exchange.

and another instances my friend tried this exchange too and Tx hash didn't pop out but he received the token. I think there must be an error in their system hopefully they can fix it as soon as possible.

This one of Cryptopia is really a bad news, I hope it will be a false alarm though. as it was a false alarm the rumor that Poloniex was preparing an exit scam last summer.

Poloniex is answerable to the gov't. They are too entwined. The operators would literally have to skip town since they are more or less on the grid. My problem with them is that they were hacked in the past and their compensation didn't seem all that great. But cryptos were still new and they've shown a good track record for the past year or so.

I want to believe Cryptopia is in the same boat, but the way they handle support and the problems their trading platform has are more than just a little problematic, they border on criminal behavior. If they were based in the U.S. there would be some legal backlash already.

I remember that old hack at Poloniex, they were little and poor then Smiley
However, I guess that with their new terms of service Poloniex (and other exchanges as well I'd imagine) has protected itself against any possible type of claim made by anyone, if I remember well when you subscribe to your terms of service you accept the fact that you are playing with worthless tokens, which is NOT money.

The days just keep piling on and no response from support regarding my missing coins and the bogus transaction id. FUCK THIS EXCHANGE! I'm going to do everything I can to legally file charges and complaints against them.

Is that true? I have an account with cryptopia and I did not have a problem here. Try to contact the cryptopia support and ask them what happened

Cryptopia is one of my favorite exchange for holding my bitcoins and altcoins and I don't see any thing wrong with their deposit and withdrawals. Everything goes on smooth with my transactions.
