Worldcoin has been an altcoin that sticks around for quite some time now. It’s a scrypt coin, thus being friendly to both CPU and GPU miners.

As soon as the launch of Worldcoin was announced, people flocked to the Bitcointalk topic to check it out. The name was definitely chosen well, because the original intention was to make it a coin for a new world, the coin of the future.

What is the future of WDC?

Huh? It has not stuck around at all, it is one of the latest wave of clones, give it a year or two, almost all of this latest wave of clones are still around so far because this wave has only being going on what, a few months? Less than a year I am pretty sure.

Coins that actually have stuck around a while are ones like litecoin, ixcoin, i0coin, devcoin and so on, the previous wave of clones...

Heck this wave of spawning has not even ended yet, it seems to be taking longer than the previous wave to realise the coins being spawned cannot be secured...

People of this wave are still spawning because this wave is still in the spawning stage, they have not yet realised how doomed they mostly are, they seem to be learning slower than the previous aka first wave did... Despite more casualties. more dumb newbies around this time than last time, maybe.

The more important question is whether the current low prices for all the coins signal the start of the demise or is just a blip due to the sudden BTC rally.

Are they low priced, in terms of dollars, say ,or gold, or some commodity that unlike bitcoins has not just jumped 50% in price?

I meant against USD. BTC has risen but most of these coins has fallen even more.

Awesome.

Ixcoin has been climbing nicely though.

Did not notice that. Too many coins to keep track of.

Its one of the freebies (merged mined coins) you get "free" alongside your bitcoins while (merged) mining bitcoins, like namecoins, devcoins, groupcoins, i0coins, coiledcoins and geistgeld.

I wouldn't consider 4 months = "stuck around".
