Hi, Well your example with the old pokemon card is quite right... And accurate! Today, such old-fashionned cards can be worth thousands. People still like them and they are not so few to collect them... So those who stuck to it were either lucky enough to find old "garbage" worth buckets, or passionate enough to rediscover such passion... I don't say that it will be the same for bitcoin. Maybe, it is indeed dying. But I know for sure that your example is especially badly chosen.. I was thinking the same. Base set Charizard holo is worth thousands of dollars. And decline in price doesn't necessarily mean that something is dying. Actually I am convinced that blockchain has never been more alive than it is now. Some countries are planning to implement blockchain to healthcare and other national systems. And bitcoin will survive as long as people will find new ways to use blockchain technology.

How can you say that it is a fantasy money?? Because bitcoin is real and other crypto is just like branches of bitcoin and copying on what bitcoin is. Bitcoin is the only crypto that is going to change our world into the world that no one ever wonder before. Bitcoin is real and fantasy.

If all of you Bitcoin-cult believers decided that play-money had a value you could begin to trade them with each other. It would still be play-money.

Please explain your definition of "real" money. I cannot be any of the standard definitions, as otherwise your statement would be baseless.

Bitcoin isn't make believe money, nor is it going away anytime soon.
Worst case scenario is that bitcoin crashes hard, which has already happened. And even that is a part of the natural price cycle of bitcoin, in which bitcoin's price moves up in bull markets and moves down in bear markets. This has always happened, and right now, we're in a bear market coming off a strong rally of 2017.
Prices will recover, but that's not even important.
You referring to bitcoin as make believe toy money is just a sign of not doing your research, imho. Bitcoin offers a ton of advantages over fiat, and that's where its value comes from. In fact, if anything, fiat is the real "make believe" money, as it is completely centralised.

Told you so long ago to get the hell out.
People with financial sense have sold long ago - the price is now constantly going ever lower with only the "HODL'ers" being dumb enough to "buy the dip" - but the dips will just continue to get deeper and deeper.
And, yes, in here people are desperately screaming "FUD" at anyone who are not 100% believers in their fantasy crypto money - but at the end of the day, it is only these dreamers who will be owning the fantasy money, and like old pokemon-cards only other collectors might want to buy a few of them at pennies on the dollar.
Fantasy money? Like seriously? Do you call it fantasy when you transfer fiat online from your bank account to another knowing fully well that you are not physically moving notes or coins? You really need to grow up and stop spreading unnecessary FUD

We have experienced this in history that negative people have always criticized something that has potential to transform the world. People said that it is impossible to talk with someone he was not in front of view when Alexander Bell was in the process of inventing the telephone, the same thing happened with the Wright Brothers when they were inventing aeroplane people have criticized the internet because they thought postal industry is doing all the things and they don't want something like internet. And now there are the people who are discouraging the efforts of blockchain developers and cryptocurrency users and someone will definitely give this example to the next generation in next 20 years. Even though I respect the opinion of OP I strongly disagree with it.

That is very shallow on my point of view. We have been in this road before, the price goes up and down, it is scary but that is how market works. All great companies suffers from time to time, their stocks goes down

What end are you talking about? Some First World Nations like Germany, Japan and South Korea are embracing bitcoin. More would follow suit. And you’d still be griping.

I think what you said is impossible, my idea is that Bitcoin will never end. Although Bitcoin prices are currently dubbed, it does not mean that Bitcoin will end. Bitcoin will pump soon and it will be the main currency in the future. It is currently a popular currency and in the future.

I kind of like your belief on bitcoin but of course it may possibly end. But one thing I believe is it won't be ending this early. It would take lots of years in order to kill bitcoin. Because even if bitcoin gets banned by all governments around the world, there will be people that will continue to use this in the internet. This kind is somewhat funny. I can take bets that bitcoin reaches ath again.

Crypto is WAY more legit than government money. Governments can print endless amount of money any tim ethey want. Bankers are lending out money that does not even exist and they do not have. It's called fractional banking and is a straight scam.
CRYPTO HAS MORE INTEGRITY THAN GOVERNMENT MONEY. If anything the government money is the fake toy money. It used to be backed by gold but now it is worthless nothing,.

So you don’t like bitcoin and want everyone else to leave the world of cryptocurrency make-believe because it is going to die. That was way back in February, people are still going into bitcoin. Better think of another strategy to make people follow you into your primitive world.

I agree to one point: Too much religious believing and hoping. Specially in this forum. Hope is lack of information. I'm not saying BTC will vanish, it will probably bounce back (or maybe not).

We're still at $9,000+, sure, we dropped from $20k; but it is still a huge increase since october last year($5000). I don't see bitcoin even being close to the "end". In my opinion bitcoin is actually a lot better now: fees are a lot lower due to the blockchain not being too congested anymore(from 200k unconfirmed transactions to today's 41k[1]); segwit adoption increasing[2]; and lightning network[3] coming alot sooner than I've expected. Also, what are you doing here in bitcointalk if all you do is spread unnecessary negativity anyway?
[1] https://blockchain.info/unconfirmed-transactions/[2] http://segwit.party/charts/[3] https://lightning.network/The price of bitcoin represents the whole cryptocurrency market. There are news that contributes to its price as a whole and some of these are hacking incidents of exchanges in which I believe that its the platform's fault. Always notice that these industry grows everyday as I see it and every hacking incidents contributes to a greater security features that would become beneficial in the near future. Its just that people are always panicking specially those who are new to market and only want to earn big profits instantly. But in the long run, many people will embrace the change that these industry could bring to us.

Better think of another strategy to make people follow you into your primitive world. Please do not wake up the Shills and the Trolls, or we will get flooded by their poison again. This guy only pops in when there is a price decline to spread his poison. <See his post history> You will see a increase in negative posting now, because these people thrive on scenarios like this. They are like pigs after the rain, if you add water to the ground and you stir up the mud and shit, then they are at their happiest.

If you want to make money from bitcoin then it is perfectly suited to your business but do not watch bitcoin as a game and you never watch them coming to an end so you do not say the words

Are they just afraid of btc prices will not rise up again, well if it yes then it's not the typical of bitcoiners for sure.

Do not be surprised if in the future we will get a lot of rumors about bitcoin death, because people who hate bitcoin will keep trying to drop the bitcoin so that its users start to leave bitcoin. Until now I still believe that bitcoin will continue to be used and will not end as long as people can still access the internet.
