Anyway, there's just too much FUD regarding crypto right now. You have the problems with chinese year, problems with regulations and bans on exchanges coming from Asia, the recent problems with facebook... people start to panic and to withdraw their money. Also the big players want bitcoin to go down to get high quantities of it for cheap and therefore make massive profits when the bull run begins again.

Like SrEasts said, lots of FUD atm. That alongside the news today being filled with the stuff about India hasn't helped.

Its unfortunate that every media outlet is grabbing any opportunity to jump down the throat of Bitcoin and Crypto's in general but then negative news sells more papers than positive so its a given that this would be the case really.. I'm sure with some patience and time, things will about turn in favour of BTC though

It could be one reason why we see the price of bitcoin suddenly goes down below and stuck at $9300. We can't say for certain what is the main cause of the sudden drop of today's price. There might be FUD around that I'm not aware of. Its really annoying and frustrating to see the price not making any headway to the direction that we wanted to, the only thing we can do is really wait.

My personal view says that around mid-Feb we will on the road to recover. And in this kind of scenario, you better just hold into your bitcoin and don't just panic sells.

I've concluded its the collective inward looking, self generated fud from with cryptosphere.  People are becoming obsessed that the world wants crypto to fail, therefore any "news" that isnt overwhelmingly positive is treated as a negative.  In fact even positive news, say McAfee promoting a coin, is given a negative spin.   People are expecting failure so react to news with selling and fear, creating negative sentiment.  Maybe because too many don't dont really know whats going on, and in the vacuum of knowledge uncertainty rules.  Bitcoin will ultimately fail under the weight of its own expectation.

It is down to $9100 today. I think the FUDs did played a part. I mean just look here in the forum, everyone's talking about ICO restrictions in South Korea. Not as often talked about is India's current stance.

I think some people also ended up taking out their money during the peak last year. Probably even those that have just bought tried to sell when they saw it falling.

Don't worry about it. Just keep holding, you still don't lose until you sell ). It's just a normal downtrend in early of every year when the biggest holiday of the year of some Asia countries is coming. i think some of the causative factors that make the bitcoin down are the FUD about the current crypto. and other causes are restrictions in various countries. then the negative issues by media that do not like bitcoin.

In south Korea government fixing the taxes because Many traders are hold the asset it create a many issues in south Korea so government should take some actions in cryptocurrency.
Now everything is normal but India government supporting the cryptocurrency so it will not Definitely illegal in India. Some rumours are spread in the crypto market.

Long time.. really?
Mid-November BTC was traded on the 6k levels.. and no one complaint that it grew up to 16k just in few weeks. That was just 2,5 months ago.

Note that within past month community has been feeding by "media" with a bad news regularly, like once per week for sure.. china, regulation, india, tether audit. Simply looks like manipulations or like some big money are entering the market.
Use this chance to buy some more with a discount and be patient.

Mainly FUD, there are a few news articles out there which lead to this. One of them is the India FUD, a lot of ( wrong ) news came out that India was banning crypto/bitcoin so a lot of people started selling straight away.

Dont forget that this is Bitcoin, it is very volatile so you should keep that in mind when seeing these type of price fluctuations.

The main cause is simple. The law of supply and demand comes into play. There is less demand for Bitcoin which will not last anyways. Bitcoin will make another surge and no one will be able to stop it.

Yeah bitcoin may be down under 10,000 but it is still 10 times from one year ago. Take a look on a wide range and you will where bitcoin had gone. There many cause that affect bitcoin. News from different countries, banning from some websites almost were negative so FUDs may affect those hyped newcomers and chose to withdraw. This might take a while but eventually bitcoin will leap again. Let just hold and take some rest for a while.
