How do you know that it was the main reason tho? BTC is already on downtrend before that news spread. Besides that, It will be so absurd to sell now your BTC while you are in loss. You will never suffer a real loss unless you sold your BTC. BTC will regain again it's price within this year and will set new ATH. Price dump always happened during the first quarter of the year while ETH pump during this period. This happened yearly so this is just a normal occurrence on crypto, Price will be back to normal soon.

Might be one reason but who knows the main reason really is. Lately, lots of action and news both by governments, Influential persons, and some individual who againsts cryptocurrency are coming so it's not unexpected to affect the market. I just hope people forget those thing soon and market turns green again.

No matter what the governments does, it can never stop the adoption of cryptocurrencies but the regulations are needed to curb scammers and note that even though in the news, the government are saying the coins are not legal tender, why are they trying to find ways of taxing exchanges?

Hodl your guys or you might regret selling early

No bro, this has nothing to do with the bloodshed in crypto world. India's participation is very low in the cryptocurrency world. So these kind of news might affect Indian crypto enthusiasts, but globally it doesn't matter much. The red you are seeing is mainly because there is too much uncertainty about crypto future around the globe. Power companies are not willing to provide electricity, Govts. are tightening on the cryptos, people getting tired of hackers/phishers, scams ICOs, pumps and dumps and so may more reasons. I think until we address these issues, we can never expect crypto world to be fully accepted by the masses.

As for your question about holding or selling Bitcoins, I would just hold my Bitcoins. There are a lot of new records which Bitcoin has to break in the near future.

this is including a small factor that has become one of the causes of BTC down prices. India is not among the largest BTC users. I do not think much about this news. I will still maintain my BTC although before you provide this information, there is already news ahead of the most BTC user countries that prohibit it.

It's a pattern.

Also at the end of 2017 lots of people entered the market. A user in another topic translated that in the charts to the relatively large dip you see at the moment. Maybe the brightest post there is.

I do not know if this is true or not. People are also wondering actually what causes cryptocurrency values massively down. I can only hold until the value is back to rebound.

No matter if it is the real reason for the RED, but it is a usual thing in this crypto world. No need to worry, keep HODLing and buy more while it is getting cheap. Sell it now might be the worst decision if you bought it when it was so high, don't follow the panic sell trend.

I don't think India is behind this decline. although the population of India is the greatest. but the population that involves bitcoin in small scale, only formed class only. or I lack information?
I think not only India, it is affected from the beginning of south korea, india, and the giant whales. there is always a scenario behind the market decline.

I think the Indian government's intention to ban bitcoin and cryptocurrency is just one reason.
South Korea's real-name account, China's further regulation, and facebook's ban on ICO advertising are bad news.
I think a bear market has arrived.

Yesterday the price is still stable around $11k. but after the bad news came then the price fell below $10k. it may have little effect on the bitcoin market. but it's true what you said that bitcoin has been in the downward trend since some time ago and there has not been a recover yet. I agree with you that it's stupid if you sell your bitcoin right now. you will lose a lot if you sell your bitcoin when market conditions like this. do not let your fears take over your mind dude. yeah I also hope the bitcoin price can return pump soon and make a new ATH

Is it India's contribution is less?

I heard that the one of every ten bitcoin transactions is happening in india and the population of India is around 150 million so they are also a good contributors to crypto world. But this is the wrong information spreaded by the Illeterates or the bitcoin haters because bitcoin is not banned in India and understand the statement of the finance minister rightly to get the clear information.

I don't really think it was Indian news, it can play apart but the Bitfinex news to be is playing the most part here, Bitfinex has the highest volume for BTC trading and since most people are dumping their Tether which play the role of USD on most exchanges, itis just like if the world stop accepting USD as global reserve currency

That alone cannot account for the fall of price in the market. Don't forget that there are forces of the market controlling the market. And as regards whether to sell at this time, I would say this is never the best time to sell because anyone who sell now will run at a loss.

I think these are more like some fake news. Unless the government really introduced some policies, otherwise, I would only think that people are trying to lower the price of bitcoin to facilitate their own buying. This is the operation of the encrypted money market. They passed Some news leads to a form that is favorable to them.
