At the moment, MultiBit support is dealt with by the project's issues database. (https://github.com/jim618/multibit/issues?state=open)
This works but is a bit clumsy and won't scale. There isn't any first line support staff.

Thinking ahead to when Bitcoin is larger:

Does anyone know of a 'bitcoin friendly' Customer Support product ?
Or can anyone recommend an open source support codebase that they use that we can enhance ?

If/ when Bitcoin grows much more, we will probably have to start charging small amounts of BTC for support - this would be used to cover the support staff's wages and hence should scale.

Let me know if you have experience or recommendations in this area.

Cheers

Jim

Thanks for that suggestion.

It's support/ticket management software I am trying to find. Preferably open source so that I can add in a sprinkling of Bitcoin.

A quick search returned this:

http://blog.neweb.co/9-free-open-source-ticket-systems/

I have not used any of those as the organizations I have worked for have always paid money for supported models, but at first glance a few of those seem promising and well into the SDLC.

It might be worth considering JIRA. It's a very comprehensive issue tracking system that can be configured to provide a customer support workflow as well.

I believe JIRA is offered for free to open source projects.

I have personal experience of JIRA and can testify that it is an excellent issue control system.
