Hi everyone. Thanks in advance for any help with my issue I’m having.

So my issue: I have a TB350-btc mobo from biostar running SMos that I have been using for a couple weeks to mine Ethereum and slowly adding RX series GPU’s as I find them. Today I got my 4th GPU, so I went back into the mobo bios settings last night to enabled mining mode in preparation for today but was getting all kinds of problems. When SMos tries to apply overclocking from SMos it will always get stuck on one GPU or another until watchdog kicks in and restarts the system. When I disable the overclocking settings it will launch claymore miner V10.6 and run but with 3 GPU’s in it would detect 4 somehow and mine crazy slow. GPU 0 would run at about .5MH/s and the other 3 detected would run around 4 MH/s. I’m guessing that maybe the onboard CPU video might be being detected and was found as GPU 0. I updated to the latest bios for the mobo and still had the same issues so I disabled mining mode and hoped that when I got the 4th GPU today that maybe it would be happy but that still wasn’t the case. Now it is only seeing only the 4 GPU’s with one running at an appropriate hash rate but the other 3 are running at the 4 MH/s speed, and when I try to overclock the cards they will get stuck and crash like before. I got no idea on what the issue is and unfortunately, I haven been able to find much info on these mobo’s anywhere. I appreciate any advice anyone can give.

Pool: ethermine.org

Mobo bios settings:
   -enabled 4G decoding
-enabled CSM support (for RX series GPU’s)
-primary video device is still 16x pcie (don’t have anything to pick up DVI port on mobo and when I set this to IGD video I only get black screen with HDMI connected through GPU’s, but planning on getting an DVI to HDMI adapter today and see if that fix’s my issue)

Rig info:
   -mobo: TB350-btc
-bios now: B35BG704.BSS (updated when trying to my issues)
      -bios before: B35BGB30.BSS
-CPU: AMD A8-9600 Bristol Ridge Quad-Core 3.1 GHz
   -PSU: corsair 1000 watt
   -ram: 8G DDR4 2400mhz
   -3 RX570 4G GPU (haven’t done the bios yet)
   -1 RX580 4G GPU (haven’t done the bios yet)

Your Bios seems to be the recommended one.

Disable CSM and see if that  wont make it work for you.

which gen have you put on your mobo ?
virtual memory is fine ?
the drivers are updated ?
your psu is feeding well ?

i'm not the greatest with computers so not exactly sure what you mean by gen, but i think you mean the OS and i'm using simple miner. everything else is fine though.

Update: when I disabled CSM support the mobo would boot directly to it’s bios again instead of to SMos. I was looking around online for some reasons whey it might not boot from the USB stick and tried to disable legacy support under USB configuration as that was a suggested reason but it ended up not working and disabled my keyboard. I took out the mobo battery to reset the CMOS memory and when I was resetting bios setings it showed that 4 devices in the PCI slots were present enven though mining mode was disabled. I don’t know how this was possible since Biostar says that mining mode must be enabled to use more then 3 GPU’s but figured I’d see what heppend if I tried to run the system. I enabled CSM support again and chose the USB stick as a boot device and somehow everything is running perfectly. I don’t know how this is possible but i’m just happy it works. Thanks for the suggestions and hope someone else that is having problems with this mobo finds the post.

Nice that you managed to get it working, clearung the cmos.

Yea sounds strange under.
Hard similar stories about the Asus b350 f gaming, were it would work when 4g disabled and not While enabled!

Hi, I just got this mobo and I am struggling. Also have the same cpu. I can't get integrated graphics to stay on. Can't get anything to work with risers. Anyway, I would like to update the bios but I can't even find this file: B35BG704.BSS

Can somebody please post a link to the new bios file?

Sorry to need such obvious help - when I go to biostar download page for tb350, none of the bios there seem compatible as I get a warning from the flashing software...

I am coming from the 250 intel model, which works out of the box. Sigh. Thanks in advance.

You could just try and install the latest bios of the motherboard thats from january this year.

As for the integrated graphics go to bios menu and then go to advanced menu,  then go to chipset , then go to GFX configuration and set Integrated graphics card as primary.

Thanks for response, been there done all that. Posting here because the obvious stuff isn't working out. Sad

The link for the Jan bios gives me an incompatibility warning so I am afraid to brick the board with it.

Why did the bios that op used successfully disappear from the interwebz? That is why I am posting.

Some times upgrading/flashing the Bios is not required as a first step. After trying all of the obvious things like setting Pcie to Gen1 and enabling 4g you should try one last step with the risers. Always try a riser latest version which has at least 3 way of connecting it, through sata, molex or 6 pin. These risers are the best, if after this still it does not work, your only option is to flash the bios with a known good one and not with some that has compatibility issues.

Thank you for comment, I will keep risers in  mind. I did purchase some better risers because I have some cards (rx550,560,1050ti) that are powered direct from the riser. I learned a good lesson about sata power, fried some equipment.

Anyway, I just flashed the January bios, in spite of the warning. Windows is running, so now I will try again to get the other work done, will keep this thread updated in case it helps anybody else out with this mobo.

Notes:

The new Jan bios:
-does not allow disabling csm
-automatically sets a mining mode on the pci slots

I followed instructions here: https://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/support/faq_content.php?S_ID=783 except csm is enabled and I set pci speed to "Balanced low" (gen1)

There are "onboard video" downloads at the biostar website which I grabbed. When I ran them it looked like some OEM version of the AMD video driver, v17.7 (maybe that was blockchain version?). My test card (rx550 factory bios) was not seen by afterburner so I installed my personal favorite, v18.6.1. Then the card on the riser was seen by afterburner!

Then I switched over to rx560 cards with modded bios, doing pixel patcher and all that, bottom line, I am running with onboard graphics and three cards on risers so things are looking up. Might actually do some mining with this rig today. Cheesy

My solution was to upgrade to Jan bios in spite of warnings from the flashing software. YMMV

I've been seeing warnings from flashing BIOS updates and it's pretty normal especially if the current version is too outdated from the new.
That's why sometimes it's recommended to flash few upper versions at a time if the MoBo's BIOS was too old or the stock.

BTW, piggyback posting in an old thread is bad but... Congratulations on solving your own problem Cheesy
