Hi All,

First off, I've just joined bitcointalk and I really appreciate the efforts everybody here makes to share information and ideas and I sure hope I can participate meaningfully too.

So, I just used a particular bitcoin ticker and set it to 1min updates which might have been too often.

It had excellent alarm features and sat on the notification bar but it had flattened battery by dinnertime.

Can anybody recount their experiences with such widgets ?

thanks

Did you use Bitcoin Paranoid? I like getting the frequent price updates, but at the same time I think it can bring unnecessary stress to be staring at the price so closely. Now I just check it once or twice a day.

Widgets/apps that constantly contact the server use wifi more and can drain the battery faster. set it to check less often, or use tasker to turn off wifi after x mins screen locked.
