May I ask who is holding the funds? I guess the goal is to raise more money then is being given away, which is quite a lot for a new service.

Using a multisig wallet with an escrow that needs to sign off would give a lot more trust I guess.

CryptoEbe - May I know why you ignored the above question to answer?

It is a valid question and it is quite a huge amount why can't you choose some trusted members as an escrow for the funds? If you do that then you may find many real ticket buyers otherwise you need to struggle even to sell free tickets because I don't want to waste my ticket to register an account and to claim that free ticket when I'm not confident about your system.

Hey Miner,
It was addressed in my response to Norris towards the end of the paragraph. You may have missed it.

Hey Norris,

Yes, you're right. Our goal is to raise more money than is being given away. The majority is paid out to prize winners; the rest goes into marketing (higher for round 1 because we are just gaining publicity), merchant fees, accounting, etc. to maintain the service and website. We also end up with a profit on which we pay income tax, and also allocate a portion of it to fund crypto related science (more info on this in the FAQ section). We are not currently using an escrow, but it does sound like a good idea and might consider it in the future. Thanks, and if you have any questions or feedback, don't hesitate to reach back.

Regards,
CryptoEbe

Thanks for the clarification.

For a new site to attract more people it is a good idea to use an escrow instead of thinking about it in future otherwise very difficult for you to find a real ticket buyer. If you're really serious to success in this business then consider using escrow option soon.

Yes, looks like that's one of our banner ads. "World's Best Crypto Raffle" is not a claim, it's our tagline and our goal. We want to be the world's best raffle. If you know of a better raffle, please show me the website so we can improve our raffle.

It is provably fair, and you are right, there is no escrow. The house takes a very fair amount compared to other raffles.

It doesn't sound like this raffle is for you, but I really appreciate you looking at the website and I really appreciate your feedback because it helps me to improve the site.

Hey friend!

There is no definite date that the raffle will take place because just like any raffle, all tickets must be sold in order for the raffle to take place. We will eventually sell enough tickets. To keep our current buyers interested, we are planning to arrange small raffles along the way (more details about this will be released on our site). For example, once we reach the 250 ticket mark (which we are planning to reach this week), we are planning to have a small LTC draw.

Adding on to that, recently, we have added an affiliate program which we believe will be a great success and push us far. If you are interested, you can find the affiliate sign up link in the footer of our site.

Thanks for the message!

Hello everyone,

This is CryptoEbe from Bitcoin Jackpot with some exciting news about our new affiliate program. By working with us, you could receive a generous recurring commission for promoting our raffle tickets. Actually, you might make more commissions with us than with other programs.

We will pay you $5 USD for each ticket sale. For example, if you send 5000 paid sales, your payment would be $25,000 USD. Also, if those same customers buy again in future rounds, you'll get another $2 USD per sale for doing nothing. We're trying to bring some fun into the crypto community and we really hope to work with you.

Here's our website for you to check out: www.bitcoinjackpot.global and the affiliate sign up is in the footer. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thanks.

Let's work together,
CryptoEbe

If you don't use an escrow then no one is going to believe what you're saying here because if you close the site after some time then whoever promoted your site to bring referrals also will be part of this scam. So I don't want to promote your site for those small bucks.

You better make a fast decision to use an escrow to secure your funds to get more buyers.

It is provably fair,

How could you say it is provably fair if there is no ways to verify the draw, you will use random.org only with a live streaming draw. That's not a provably fair system as long as I understand. Why? Live streaming can be faked as well as the draw by random.org
Come on, offering such big prize with not cheap ticket should have a better process on the drawing.

Hello there. so as the question suggests, there's a brand new crypto raffle site and they are giving away some free tickets to help gain publicity and momentum...there's no purchase required and there's no catch, it's a simple raffle that will be performed by an unrelated third party on live video. This coupon code is limited to 1 per person...Even if this is not fraud, the probability of winning is very small. Who wants to take a chance, who will turn up the fortune, maybe he will, but I do not want to risk, so I pass by..

Hey Miner,

Just as with any feedback that we get from others, we need to weigh the pros and cons before implementing it. We started this raffle just this month, and decisions like this takes time; so this is currently still in discussion among our team. In my opinion (not my team decision), I am not for escrow idea because of the following reasons.

From my research on other raffles, like Princess Margaret Lotto for example, when they get let's say 10% of the revenue in their bank, they begin to spend it on advertising and operating costs. So right now, it's a working business model vs escrow which isn't used in raffles that I know of. Keep in mind that Satoshi Dice and other big risk formats don't have escrow too. None of the big bitcoin casinos have that (correct me if I am wrong). Moreover, you need to be wary even if someone uses escrow because there are scams there too (https://blockonomi.com/erc-20-token-guide/#Watch_Out_Scammers_Can_Make_ERC-20_Tokens_Too). Also, what if our escrow provider goes under and our funds are tied up? Then all our efforts would be ruined as well because of someone else.

Also, since this is round 1, we are using most of our profits to promote our raffle. For example, you already know about our affiliate program and our banner advertisements in various sites; you also know about our free tickets given out initially and we are also planning to have multiple smaller draws along the way, so our overhead cost is huge for round 1 Another problem with the crypto world, since we are accepting only crypto payments, what if we have our escrow funds in BTC, but BTC crashes and we have to pay $1,200,000 USD in prizes? I doubt escrow would give us the flexibility to transfer a portion to stable fiat money and to use our revenue towards promotions. Once again, this is only my personal opinion and this does not reflect a final decision from my team as we are still debating on using an escrow.

Hey Bitinity,

We are going to let a third party do the draw. We are planning to get the people from random.org themselves (if possible, or someone well known) to do the draw, but we will not do the draw ourselves. Would you rather have the people who made the raffle come up with a process to draw (more chances of manipulating the draw) instead of a completely unrelated third party (that is also well established)? Do you think random.org is not fair in choosing its random numbers? If you have concerns about how random.org chooses random numbers, check out their FAQ page as they have tons of information. Thanks.

For a big jackpot like this then using random.org isn't really not good at all or more appealing from a potential player.Even though you will say about manipulative draw which is really possible maybe choose another way on drawing out like live draws but  well it doesn't matter at all because you wont really hit up that ticket sales for sure. Its too big to accumulate such thing and its not really convincing about into its terms.

If your site is already trusted from this community then no need have an escrow and that part I completely agree. But do you think your site and you trusted members on this forum?

Whatever is your explanation for not using escrow investments are better compared to investing on new site.

From my research on other raffles, like Princess Margaret Lotto for example, when they get let's say 10% of the revenue in their bank, they begin to spend it on advertising and operating costs.

If you start using your 10% and if you don't reach your target then what happens to the funds you already raised?

Come on guys, this is clearly a scam.
They sort of messed up with this post:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2874667.msg29545770#msg29545770

The only people who are part of our team are listed on our main page at bitcoinjackpot.global, so whoever made that post is not on our team. Every team member's Bitcointalk or Reddit profiles are linked on our site as well. I, myself, am part of the Bitcoin Jackpot team, so if you have any concerns, please let me know.

Hey Oilacris,

Alright, what is your suggestion to do the draw? We thought using random.org, which uses atmospheric noise to generate truly random numbers would be fair enough; the atmosphere also cannot be hacked, but we may have dropped the ball here. When we get people from random.org to do the draw, they also release the results on their site with a timestamp. Someone suggested https://www.randompicker.com/, which also seems to be a good site, but definitely not as established as random.org; what are you thoughts on that?
