Hello everyone, I'm still quite new to the forum but since I recently got the Jr Member rank I started getting interested in bounties and I was wondering a thing about translation campaigns.
I'm a native Italian so I'd like to start translating ANN, WP and whatnot but there's something I still don't understand. If I reserve a translation and they accept me, will I receive the PSD/the editable file (when it comes to translating the WP) and the original formatted text of the ANN thread so that I can just edit it, leaving the original formatting, or do I have to start from scratch?

I really hope I explained myself since this is a big doubt I have and I'd like to clear this thing before applying for any translation. Thanks in advance to anyone who will be kind enough to help me

I can't help you too much with this, but I would assume that they will make it as easy as possible from their part.
There is no reason to make it harder for you by not giving you all the relevant files in their possession.

I personally did some translating on Transifex website for Bisq software. There you get a string above you and you type the translation bellow.
Using shortcut keys it goes quite fast. It also gives you your past translations of similar strings that you can just click to copy and than edit the difference.

If you intend to embark on a career in non-fiction translation, I suggest that you look into translation memory (TM) software instead of planning to translate by directly editing a word processor or PDF document. TM software is especially useful when repeatedly translating text containing similar phrases. As an example, documents relating to financial compliance are often very similar from one client to another, and TM software can help your work by suggesting suitable translations based on your earlier projects. Should you then, at some later point, work for translation agencies, they will probably even require you to use TM software.
